Not a Trusted Organization?! As if Trump can ever be trusted.

Jesus fucking Christ. This is very bad.

Fortunately there are enough normie republicans. This will never pass.

Why lie, OP? A bill was introduced. Which won't make it out of committee much less be voted on.

But you wanted DL to think otherwise. Why?

From the story you may have read before posting: "However, the bill faces uncertain prospects given prior bipartisan moves to prevent U.S. withdrawal from NATO. Also at the alliance's meeting on Wednesday, Trump welcomed increased defense spending among members."

"But Congress has previously taken steps to shield NATO membership from unilateral presidential action. In December 2023, lawmakers approved a bipartisan measure as part of the annual National Defense Authorization Act, requiring a president to obtain Senate approval or an act of Congress before withdrawing the U.S. from NATO.

In 2019, the House of Representatives passed legislation to prevent Trump from seeking a U.S. withdrawal from NATO without congressional approval during his first term, amid concerns about his stated skepticism of the alliance."

Lee is a shithead. Trump is a shithead. Why act like them?

R5 The fact this was introduced by a senator is disturbing. It will get votes. True it won’t pass. What it does show is the growing movement in the Republican Party to leave NATO and our allies. This should scare the shit out of us all.

Daddy will never allow this.

You’re right r6 — the fact that Congress people and especially senators would openly call for the end of NATO shows how seriously our government is in decline.

I still doubt they mean it. You’d have to be a drooling moron not to see the benefit of NATO to the USA. Do we pay to protect them? Yes. Ask yourself why we’ve been doing that for 80 years if it’s just “freeloader pee-ins” … it’s a fuckload more than that.

(If some maga buffoon like MTG, Gaetz or Boebert had introduced it, I’d understand that.)

But, mean it or not, the fact that a senator was willing to even introduce such a bill just to please the president is a real red flag. But so many of those are flying right now, what’s one more?
