18 of 100. I tallied up very liberally, counting any title that I liked, or films I liked well enough that I could say positive about them and offer a tepid recommendation.
What the list points out most is how weak nearly all of the titles are. Cull out the big Hollywood shit, the Twee Wes Anderson and Little Miss Sunshine sorts,
My top dozen from the NYT list; Volver; Inside LLewyn Davis; Melancholia; Kill Bill 1.; Pan's Labyrinth; Boyhood, Brokeback Mountain; O' Brother Where Art Thou?; No Country for Old Men; Mulholland Drive; There Will Be Blood; The Tree of Life
A radom few that came to mind as missing: Amores Perros; Requiem for a Dream; Talk to Her; As Bestas, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.

This list reveals how mediocre movies have become. And if you are going to include Bridesmaids, why not include The Devil Wears Prada?

I saw 67 of their films. There are eight of the 33 I haven't seen that I would very much still like to see (Bridesmaids, Children of Men, A Separation, Amelie, Melancholia, Past Lives, Memories of Murder).
My ballot for my own personal top 10 best movies of the 21st century:
Mulholland Dr
Roma
Spirited Away
In the Mood for Love
Phantom Thread
Hereditary
The Love Witch
O Brother, Where Are Thou?
The Favourite
Adaptation

Sorry: that should read: O Brother, Where Art Thou?

Lists are the laziest, most manipulative form of “journalism.”
Clickbait that’s dated in two weeks.
The NYT isn’t fit to line a puppy crate.

R3 - you're gay and you haven't seen Bridesmaids? It's wonderful - it's on Comedy Central a lot - you can probably get it free somewhere.
It's one of those movies I can watch over and over - and I have.

Yes indeed, we too use "cookies." Take a look at our privacy/terms or if you just want to see the damn site without all this bureaucratic nonsense, click ACCEPT. Otherwise, you'll just have to find some other site for your pointless bitchery needs.
