I have two friends that have Covid. It feels like a long, bad cold. Chills but no fever. Very sore throat.
Do you and anyone you know have it?

There was a thread last week or maybe two weeks ago describing the throat pain as razor blades.

Do you mean your friends got the flu?
Are they old and so it is affecting them worse?

If I had to guess, OP is a MARY. And probably on Medicare disability.
Just a guess.

Nobody gives a shit anymore OP!

I've had some weird "cold" / sore throat for over a week now - probably going on about 10 days.
It's not really bad, it's just...lingering. It feels like the middle-end stage of a summer cold, except that it just won't go away, and it was never really bad to begin with.
I don't think it's Covid, although I haven't tested. I'm just assuming it's some weird cold because I've had sinus stuff, drip down the throat, a sore throat and a headache at times (with no fever - I just assume it's because of the sinus stuff).

I think my friend has it right now. She tested negative for strep but the doctor wouldn’t run a Covid test. Rude.

Well as long as you feel good enough to be out and about and spread it around the populauton

Live in Los Angeles, on the news they said there is a new strain and it feels like swallowing razors....

Didn’t RFK restrict vaccines to only those with some underlying diseases?

It'll go away. It is going away. It's leaving with the heat.

r9 I'm not sneezing, coughing or anything near to that. My sore throat DEFINITELY isn't in the realm of "swallowing razors" - it's not even all that bad, just annoying at this point. I'd like whatever this is to go the fuck away already.

I’ve had COVID four or five times at this point.

Mouse studies showed that they all died after the 10th covid infection

I've had it three times. My reaction to my most recent vaccine in May was worse than my last infection. But nothing was as scary as my second infection, after two vaccines. It ramped up my existing rheumatoid arthritis to a point where I couldn't move without extreme pain. My fingers looked like small potatoes. I had a pee bucket beside my bed.
My poor husband. He must truly love me. Later he had it too but not as badly. It was a true pleasure to return the favor.

It was never gone. It's here to stay like the flu or the common cold - with similar upticks and regressions.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | June 26, 2025 3:31 AM |
I haven't had Covid yet.

I have had COVID twice according to antibody and antigen tests. First time was before the vaccine was released. Never had any symptoms at all. Absolutely nothing. Nothing but a sore arm from vaccines either.

I've officially had Covid once, though I wouldn't be surprised if I had it another time - even if I got tested every time I felt sick and the rest of the tests were negative.
It was pretty bad, but Influenza A last winter was considerably worse.
I had 4 vaccines early on, but haven't got one in a few years.

I haven't had it yet. The last time I was sick, it turned out to be strep throat, but no COVID.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | June 26, 2025 3:55 AM |
Had it for the first time 11 months ago, I never want to get it again. The one upside? No sense of smell equals no appetite.
