I watched Scream, Queen! - the documentary about him

R4 - yep, me too. It's funny because I remember watching NOEM2 in a theater - although a teenager - and I thought, man this is kinda gay.

It is known to be the gayest horror film - according to the documentary.

When I was writing a paper in college about the movie version of Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf I reached out to Mark because I knew he’d worked with Sandy Dennis on …Jimmy Dean. He was so kind and helpful. He would always wish me Happy Birthday on FB. He was living in Mexico at this time.

I had no idea he was HIV+. I hate to hear that he is struggling like this. I cannot imagine him scamming so I’d say he’s in rough shape if he’s taken to GFM.

Absolutely. I consider the NOES movies to be garbage.

If you want to really have your foundations shaken, I loathe the movie F13 as well.

He really is that sick. He has AIDS and has had numerous medical complications throughout the past few years. Just look at him — he’s not faking it.

Does he have full blown AIDS? Back when I started seriously thinking about getting into acting, I started reading about film backstories. Nightmare 2 is so fascinating. He was psychologically tortured during production. They knew he was gay and just really toyed with the gay subtext that was already in the script.

I sometimes think of so many of the Luke Evans and Matt Bomers of the 80s whose careers stalled because they were outed or worst, because they died.

R3 Right. Many consider him the first male scream queen. And that is not a play on his being gay. Like legit just for mainstream culture of people into horror flicks.
