They were staying at one of the palaces that was VERY remote. No westerners within 20 miles. We got all the advance itineraries (I was part of the "Country Team" at the Embassy) and were starting the planning. Then we get a complete change of plan that came directly from the Office of the First Lady. Suddenly Mrs. Obama was coming and Susan was going to be in Jeddah - hundreds of miles away. Doesnt take a rocket surgeon to figure that out.”

I honestly don't care. It's a work relationship with an uneven power dynamic, but people sleep with the boss all the time and nothing bad comes from it in most cases. They're consenting adults, and she was hardly some wide-eyed intern. She's also not a member of the press, another branch of government, or a foreign government, so the ethics, while somewhat problematic on the power dynamic, are pretty cut and dried. They're co-workers on a work trip. Big fucking whoop.
As for Michelle and "tHeSaNctItY oF mArRiAgE..." who fucking knows. Do they have an open relationship or some other"arrangement?" Or is Michelle sitting at home expecting him to be faithful 100% and spiraling at the thought that he might not be? OR - is it something in between? Something else entirely? Something maybe no one else knows or understands for certain?
Only two people know that for sure, and I'm pretty sure Barack and Michelle aren't in this thread with us right now. I guess we'll never know. But I also don't really care.
