The federal government wants to force-feed an Iranian asylum seeker on hunger strike in immigration detention in Arizona. Mehrad Asadi Eidivand's first hunger strike lasted from June 6 to June 13, resulting in a trip to the hospital where he was diagnosed with acute kidney injury, according to the government. He has been in a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility in Florence since agents arrested him outside his Phoenix home May 31.
