Trump on Truth Social:
We have completed our very successful attack on the three Nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan. All planes are now outside of Iran air space. A full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow. All planes are safely on their way home. Congratulations to our great American Warriors. There is not another military in the World that could have done this. NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE! Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Jeremy Diamond on CNN has disappointed me. He’s referring to Trump’s “headfake” like he’s a frigging genius. He’s practically licking Trump’s shitter. But I’ll take into account that CNN is really not much better than Fox News these days.

R48, it was insane for Trump to do it.
But he did it to Iran, and I’m kinda sorta …
by Anonymous | reply 51 | June 22, 2025 12:42 AM |
People who live in nyc and dc should exercise some caution. The Ukraine war has demonstrated how easy it is to use cheap drones to devastating effect.
And Iran might not have a bomb, but they have nuclear material and could absolutely build a dirty bomb.
LA might be a target too, because there’s a large Iranian population there. They’re mostly refugees from the Islamic republic, but a population that large is ripe for infiltration.
Be careful, folks. No need for hysteria of course.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | June 22, 2025 12:44 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 55 | June 22, 2025 12:46 AM |
The enriched uranium is probably secretly stored somewhere, though it looks like spies can easily penetrate the Iranian government. That is what happens when the regime is full of hatred towards its people.

Daddy?
by Anonymous | reply 57 | June 22, 2025 12:48 AM |
Just an observation, a little off topic: Putin absolutely did not want the US to do anything to Iran. If Trump is a Russian asset, this action is off what his "assignment" would be.

R56 R60 First formal reaction from Iranian officials: "we had already moved all material from these three sites. They were empty."
by Anonymous | reply 61 | June 22, 2025 12:52 AM |
I guess the question now is whether there will follow up with a tactical nuclear weapon.
by Anonymous | reply 62 | June 22, 2025 12:54 AM |
Oh fuck, wasn’t Dump the one who constantly criticized Biden for arming Israel and who said that no wars were going to happen under his expertise and guidance?
The ORANGE PATHOLOGICAL LIAR lied once again, amazing.
On the orher hand, he might have to abandon the white house right now and hide for his life if this war escalates, Iranians aren’t just going to get slapped and not slap back, Iran isn’t Iraq.
by Anonymous | reply 63 | June 22, 2025 12:54 AM |
So blowing up stores of enriched uranium - I guess the dirty bombs are just a bonus.

by Anonymous | reply 66 | June 22, 2025 12:55 AM |
Putin is limited in what he can actually force an American President to do. And Putin is in a weak position right now. It does not surprise me that Trump feels comfortable going against Putin's wishes on this.
Now, if you want some Russian ties exposed, look at the reaction of Tucker Carlson, MTG, etc. They have been huge Trump supporters on everything, until it came time to bomb Iran. They are in the pockets of Russia (and possibly others) for sure.
by Anonymous | reply 67 | June 22, 2025 12:55 AM |

- Y’all know Dump only did this because you all started TACO, right?
- That said, I don’t hate that we did this. I despise Iran and want their nuclear program destroyed. At any cost.
- THAT said, I hope it all backfires on Trump and damages him as deeply as possible.
- My biggest worry? Iran bought a nuke from North Korea. And has it poised to drop on Tel Aviv.

Indeed. Lots of Arabs LOATHE the Persians, though largely on sectarian lines.
by Anonymous | reply 75 | June 22, 2025 1:01 AM |
Iran is very dumb to say it was empty if in fact it was so. That just encourages the US to go back again and topple the Ayatollah. That makes me think it wasn't empty and they are lying, knowing full well that some people in the US would eat up that propaganda as it makes Trump look bad.
Also,, Israeli intelligence is the best in the world (better than the US even), and they thought there was nuclear material at these sites. Israeli intelligence has been correct about almost everything when it comes to Iran including where all the important scientists were. I doubt they don't know where the uranium is.
by Anonymous | reply 76 | June 22, 2025 1:02 AM |
R71 - Whether the U.S. will use one! Some military folk advising Trump said the bunker busters are probably not enough to bore deeply enough into the earth to get to the uranium.

Iran is not as strong as the USA, but they aren’t as helpless as the Palestinians.
They won’t just watch their country get destroyed without retaliating, and like I said they might get some undercover/discrete help from Russia,China, North Korea and Pakistan because these countries all label themselves as anti-imperialistic and anti-western.
If they think that helping Iran will undermine US’ status as the economic leader of the world, that’s what they will do.
This attack wasn’t even Congress approved, but the Orange fucker did it anyways.

Iran has more sophisticated nuclear science than NK.
Iran would not build a “bomb.” How would they deploy it? Bombs are dropped by aircraft.
by Anonymous | reply 92 | June 22, 2025 1:11 AM |
Alright calm down everyone. Russia is busy, North Korean nukes are more of a danger to the launcher than the receiver, and China is more interested in a drawn out war than Armageddon. So long as this war is limited to air power its just a waste of money more than anything.

by Anonymous | reply 97 | June 22, 2025 1:15 AM |
I would be more worried about terrorist attacks than war with any of the majors. Russia and China often help out and work with Iran to some extent, but China rarely gets directly involved with anything and Russia is really in no position to get involved right now. Even their behind the scenes help is going to be severely limited cause they need everything for themselves. Iran may fire at some of our sites in the middle east, but I don't see any of the big boys joining them. Terrorist attacks is what we should be most concerned about.
by Anonymous | reply 98 | June 22, 2025 1:20 AM |
R86 - While that cartoon is true, I'm afraid because I'm not really sure any country involved directly or indirectly has a decent grasp of any strings in this situation. This is unknown territory, for the most part. And remember, thanks to Laura Loomer and Trump’s paranoia, our NSC is now short of over 100 staffers who likely had valuable expertise and knowledge.
But, we did have a cabinet secretary who did some preparatory drills yesterday.

All of them. Why would a Republican ever choose consistency over whoring for Trump and the Cult?
by Anonymous | reply 100 | June 22, 2025 1:20 AM |
Well, a few things here. Iran was probably close to making a bomb or had already made it, except they have not tested it. A lot of the work is done by computer simulations, so they probably have a good idea of how to make it work and yield, etc. The Iranian education system is very good, and they are very smart people like everywhere. They probably have kept away enough enriched uranium to make a few bombs. They may be scattered around the country. It is a big country, and many eastern parts are too far for Israeli forces to reach. And Israel, though having an excellent spy network, still has to deal with equally smart people. Not everyone is a sellout, even if they hate the regime. So my guess is they will rise once this over. If they master how to miniaturize to deliver by missiles, they will threaten Israel. The mullahs don't want a Jewish state in their midst. I am very ambivalent about the Israel thing. I mean originally the Ashkenazi came who are definitely European but now a lot of middleast Jews live there. So it is their home meaning its like creating a home for all the middleeast Jews.
by Anonymous | reply 102 | June 22, 2025 1:23 AM |
Why are people even discussing Russia and China? Neither is in a defensive alliance with Iran. That would be a fools errand for Russia or China.

The events this morning are outrageous and will have everlasting consequences. Each and every member of the UN must be alarmed over this extremely dangerous, lawless and criminal behavior.

r197 and r207, why do you believe Iranian propaganda that they removed everything? That is propaganda for their own people. And it makes no sense for them to say that publicly if they actually had removed it, as it encourages the US and Israel to come back and take them out. Keeping quiet about its existence would be in their best interest if it were actually safe. Israeli intelligence has been extremely accurate on everything involving the internal workings of Iran, including the location of specific scientists and others that they have blown up. They would know if everything had been moved. As would the US actually. It's fine to want to see Trump humiliated, but you can't let that or your hatred for Israel influence your thinking.

Now you can do the correct thing for a second time and give Ukraine all it needs to fight back against Russia.
Then there will be peace and you can say you brought peace to the world, and China will know not to fuck you with.
Cheers!

R275 it will eventually get the U.S. a canal that will rival the Suez and give trillions of dollars over the course of decades. That is what this entire thing is for. That is why they are clearing Palestine now. It’s about money. That is why Iran is being eliminated as a threat, to completely dry up their proxies in the region, plus they never should have helped Russia. It’s always about money R275 when you find yourself asking, “why?”

We knew Iran didn’t have ready to go nukes in those facilities. There was no danger there.
What Trump just did could lead to geopolitical disaster .. or not.. too soon to tell. But he did it as (a) a takedown of what Iran intends to build, and (b) instant destruction of the almost mythical idea that Iran is powerful and fearsome because they have or will soon have nukes in an impenetrable fortress deep inside a mountain.
That was part of the Khamenei regime’s mythos and negotiating power. That’s just been bombed to nothing.
by Anonymous | reply 283 | June 22, 2025 11:56 AM |
Honestly the more I think about it, this is really NOT a big deal. Trump bombed a few sites in the middle of nowhere, no reports of death and even if so, very few. Iran as a country going about their daily lives without even noticing for the most part. 90 million people there are not suddenly going to "rise up". What this really is, is a show of force by Benjamin Netanyahu to Iran that he can pull the strings of American fire power via Trump.

r311 I've read so much commentary lately that alas I can't re-find and provide a link for the following (sorry); but in the ocean of analysis one commentator remarked that [italic]of course[/italic] the Iranians would state that they had moved everything prior to the bombing in order to appear competent and reassure the Iranian people. The commentator further noted that, if they had [italic]really[/italic] moved anything, they wouldn't mention having done so, as mentioning it will only make the Israelis/Americans seek it out elsewhere in order to destroy it.

Iran may block the Strait of Hormuz. If it does so, I think it's the Ayatollah's death warrant, but they have very few cards left to play and that's the biggest hand they have left. Obviously they have the usual navy ships and will launch some of their drones from them (I suspect their main drone launching ship will be destroyed immediately if it hasn't already been destroyed by Israel while docked). I do not think those big boy ships will survive long against the U.S. and Israel. Bigger concern is that they also have a ton of land-based missiles that are specifically anti-ship missiles. They have a few subs with the usual torpedoes. And they have small boats that are rigged to be suicide boats. And of course there's mines. But if they decide to go down that path, they will piss off way more than the U.S. and Israel, and I suspect US will decide it's time to take out the regime.
by Anonymous | reply 317 | June 22, 2025 4:49 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 318 | June 22, 2025 5:03 PM |
No, r318, it says it's too soon to know the extent, if any, of their remaining nuclear capability. As for Fordow, it's obvious that a facility in the mountain wouldn't be totally obliterated. It doesn't have to be to be rendered effectively destroyed and unusable. The Iranians are the ones claiming this is no big deal and that they evacuated everything. Thats's pure propaganda that some westerners will eat right up.

R360, Congress has become progressively less functional since the days of WW II. Without deciding specifically deciding to do this, the country increasingly relied on the Supreme Court and the Presidency to make difficult decisions and keep everything moving forward. "War" hasn't been declared since the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor; we've simply tolerated legalistic work-arounds. And see the results now: a Congress that is surplus to requirements, that does absolutely nothing.
