Telegram Co-Founder Pavel Durov Says He'll Leave $17 Billion Fortune to His 106 Children

"I want to specify that I make no difference between my children: There are those who were conceived naturally and those who come from my sperm donations," he said. "They are all my children and will all have the same rights!"

Durov said that his children will not have access to their inheritances, after his death, until 30 years from the day he gave the interview to Le Point, or June 19, 2055.

"I want them to live like normal people, to build themselves up alone, to learn to trust themselves, to be able to create, not to be dependent on a bank account," he said.

Durov decided to allocate his estate now because his "work involves risks," he said — an apparent reference to the legal issues he has faced over Telegram.

According to Forbes, Durov has two children with his ex-wife, Daria Bondarenko. Durov met Bondarenko while studying at university; as of 2021, she was living in Barcelona. In 2021, Russian Forbes ranked Durov's children as the sixth-richest heirs in Russia. On 23 July 2024, Irina Bolgar (born 1980), who lives in Switzerland, contacted Forbes and shared documentation showing that she is the mother of three children by Durov; she also provided a family photo with Durov taken in 2020. Forbes confirmed the authenticity of the documents.

In August 2024, Bolgar filed a lawsuit against Durov in Switzerland. She alleged that Durov abused her youngest son five times between 2021 and 2022, and that Durov stopped seeing their children in September 2022. The lawsuit was filed several months after Durov, according to Bolgar, stopped paying her child support of €150,000 per month. A follow-up investigation into Durov's alleged abuse of Bolgar's son was initiated by the Juvenile Office (OFMIN) of the Central Directorate of the Judicial Police of France.

Durov claims to have fathered more than 100 children via sperm donation in 12 countries since 2010.

In 2025, Durov wired €400,000 to the Foundation for AIDS Research and wants to position himself as a philanthropist.

Austin Wolf was peddling materials on Telegram. But it looks like how they had to caught him was by engaging with him to confirm his identity, and then seizing his electronic devices. An investigation in Brazil apparently found that over 1M telegram users belonged to groups or channels that peddled kiddie porn. Pavel also refuses to cooperate with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, which works with the police to track down users and victims. It also helps detect kiddie porn on sites so the platform can block the content. Pavel claims that telegram moderates its own content and that kiddie porn isn’t allowed, but that claim seems a bit dubious.

Does all this sound true to you? Sounds like a PR mythology campaign around this guy. Elon Musk spent massive amounts of money on PR and publicists years ago to do the same thing.
