NYT article on the SC trans ruling

Lots of comments from gay men and lesbians calling for dropping the T. NYT readers comments heavily in favor of the ruling.

by Anonymousreply 245June 21, 2025 4:49 AM

I actually am in agreement with this ruling myself (because I don't think children have the moral responsibility to make such huge body-altering decisions until they're 18).

I wish, though, we could avoid OP's divisive knee-jerk rhetoric of "dropping the T," which is as stupid and over-the-top a political catchphrase as "defund the police."

by Anonymousreply 1June 19, 2025 7:29 PM

I’m unfamiliar with NYT comments. Do the reporters always reply to comments? I like that!

by Anonymousreply 2June 19, 2025 7:32 PM

They should be dropped. Please provide evidence that have positively championed gay and lesbian acceptance? Please provide evidence they have bettered society as a whole?

by Anonymousreply 3June 19, 2025 7:33 PM

OP here. Used “drop the T” as shorthand for the comments which pretty much said the same in more words. Didn’t think it would be an issue. Sorry.

by Anonymousreply 4June 19, 2025 7:34 PM

This is quite an article. Even trans people are identifying other trans as sick and unhealthy in their ideology.

by Anonymousreply 5June 19, 2025 7:35 PM

Are we reading the same comment section OP? I don’t see the commenters being heavily in favour of the ruling at all.

by Anonymousreply 6June 19, 2025 7:37 PM

Chase Strangio has done more harm to the gay rights movement in the past few years than any of the bigots we used to fight.

by Anonymousreply 7June 19, 2025 7:39 PM

Yay, the Republicans won't push anti-gay legislation now that the T is gone!

by Anonymousreply 8June 19, 2025 7:41 PM

Strangio destroyed the ACLU.

by Anonymousreply 9June 19, 2025 7:41 PM

R6. Sort by reader pics and see the likes the comments in favor of decision get

by Anonymousreply 10June 19, 2025 7:44 PM

Some real Mensa candidates they got over there:

“Regardless of 1 & 2, the trans rights movement is way ahead of any left-political support, never mind majoritarian support. Here is an inconvenient truth and a terrible memory: gay rights were not accepted by the majority of Americans until the AIDS crisis. It was just impossible for even right-of-center people to see gay men dying in front of them and on the news without humanizing them full stop. It was massive.“

by Anonymousreply 11June 19, 2025 7:44 PM

R10 oh upvotes. Tbh I take those things with more than a pinch of salt. Anything to do with trans people online brings an enormous amount of troll behaviour, besides hate posting is much more popular than normal posting. See for example, this thread lol.

by Anonymousreply 12June 19, 2025 7:48 PM

Most interesting. Thanks for posting.

by Anonymousreply 13June 19, 2025 7:50 PM

Look, I absolutely believe that adults should do what they want with their lives and their bodies, and trans people have the right to transition if they are grown ass adults. But let’s be honest here. There is nothing normal or healthy about chopping off body parts and pumping yourself full of hormones. Gays and lesbians are natural as sexual orientation is a spectrum. Transsexualism is not normal or naturally occurring in nature. Logically there is just no reason to be connected to them.

by Anonymousreply 14June 19, 2025 7:53 PM

Yes the trans movement has huge support among the American public. Any indication to the opposite is just MAGA propaganda.

by Anonymousreply 15June 19, 2025 7:53 PM

[quote] I absolutely believe that adults should do what they want with their lives and their bodies

Would that include people throwing their own body off a bridge? When should society intervene to protect people from themselves and prevent self-injury?

by Anonymousreply 16June 19, 2025 7:56 PM

It’s all quite simple actually: it’s impossible for a person to change sex. While dysphoria seems to be real, damaging body modifications are not the proper treatment.

by Anonymousreply 17June 19, 2025 7:59 PM

sean cody will do anything

by Anonymousreply 18June 19, 2025 8:02 PM

What is the proper treatment, R17?

by Anonymousreply 19June 19, 2025 8:03 PM

In your opinion, r17. This issue should be up to the families, otherwise bigotry rides the bus. I was in a psychiatric facility back in the ‘80s when prejudice called the shots with gay issues. It was shatteringly nightmarish for kids who needed love and understanding.

by Anonymousreply 20June 19, 2025 8:10 PM

How long until the first dipshit says “puberty blockers should be only for adults 18+” 😂

by Anonymousreply 21June 19, 2025 8:13 PM

R22 PSA on ignore-dar, it only shows u comments for threads that both you and the blocked poster have commented on. Unless you’ve commented on every single thread ever posted you can’t definitely say they have no posting history.

by Anonymousreply 23June 19, 2025 8:19 PM

as a followup R22, I blocked OP and checked and there are three other threads I’ve commented on that he has too for which I can see past comments of his.

by Anonymousreply 24June 19, 2025 8:20 PM

But it’s not my opinion, R20. It’s sound medical science. It’s biology. And I’m goddamn sick and tired of people trying to link homosexuality, which is a part of the range of normalcy in all species, with this completely unrelated notion simply because our national movement has decided to link us together.

by Anonymousreply 25June 19, 2025 8:24 PM

How did the ACLU get taken over by these weak-minded, myopic people? I hope someone writes a book about it.

by Anonymousreply 26June 19, 2025 8:31 PM

R25 pls it’s normality not normalcy.

Nobody cared about trans people 5 years ago...why do you care now? Because you fell for the right-wing culture war

by Anonymousreply 29June 19, 2025 8:34 PM

Actually, R29, it was radical lesbians who changed my mind about trans rights. When I really started listening rather than regurgitating GLAAD’s lines, it all clicked.

by Anonymousreply 30June 19, 2025 8:36 PM

Maybe, I "fell" for it, but I also trained as a woman's historian. I cannot understand what happened to gender studies since I left academia fifteen years ago. Why is this and not violence against women or reproductive rights the signature issue of the ACLU?

by Anonymousreply 31June 19, 2025 8:37 PM

R28 it’s bad english idc what Merriam Webster says :)

by Anonymousreply 32June 19, 2025 8:52 PM

R29 please, trans in women's sports has been an ongoing issue since at least 2018.

After Biden took office in January 2021, the administration started enforcing trans/nonbinary ideology, altering the language and pretty much every aspect of society for just a minuscule population, and those who objected were cancelled/ostracized. That wasn't going to end well.

Stop blaming the right for everything and start taking accountability.

by Anonymousreply 33June 19, 2025 9:02 PM

I miss when they were just Drag Queens& performing at Bob and Brabara's at 15th& South Sts in Philly. God, when I was in Philly from1993 for work, the DICK and Ass from the Penn& Drexel students, plus the other guys in the bar.

by Anonymousreply 34June 19, 2025 9:05 PM

I don’t have a definite position on this issue. Though i think the extreme right used some of the more radical trans agenda to scare people and some part of the left fell on this trap, trans people should be defended and have rights. Again, not sure about the age issue.

What is very clear to me is that it won’t stop here, Gay men and women will be next. Nothing to celebrate here.

by Anonymousreply 45June 19, 2025 10:04 PM

- I do not believe transwomen are women. I think they're transwomen and that's totally cool.

- I think we do need separate spaces for bio women.

- I don't think anyone who went through male puberty should ever play professional or collegiate level women's sport.

- I don't think children should mess with their bodies at all until they're of age to live with the consequences.

So I guess this puts me somewhere in the "trans critical" crowd.

But I would never call myself that because what I can't tolerate about the "trans critical" crowd is how dehumanizing they speak about trans people. There's such a coldness and cruelty in their delivery. They really think trans people are sub human, disgusting and worthy of nothing but derision.

That I can't ever support.

And if trans really is a disorder, shouldn't we show compassion and empathy for someone living with such a mental disorder?

Keep deflecting R47. You don’t have an argument that’s why you continue to lose on this. When the lawyer arguing the case for youth gender transition publicly says “a penis is not a male body part it’s just an unusual body part for a woman” you know you are fucked. It was a terrible case did the ACLU to take on to begin with.

by Anonymousreply 49June 19, 2025 10:24 PM

R20 and what did you do about it?

by Anonymousreply 50June 19, 2025 10:33 PM

Interesting comment. Don’t know if it’s true, but it kind of makes sense. Though even if true, it sure jumps to an unwarranted conclusion in that last sentence.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I heard on the NYT Daily podcast that the group that lobbied for gay marriage for years needed a new cause to raise funds after Obergefell. They went for transsexuals, previously an obscure topic. You sometimes hear Democrats claim the Republicans started attacking transsexuals out of nowhere, but the whole controversy started with this group adopting this 1% of the population as their new way to raise funds from liberals. If they hadn't, this would have remained an obscure topic.

by Anonymousreply 51June 19, 2025 10:38 PM

"Yay, the Republicans won't push anti-gay legislation now that the T is gone!"

I'm more worried about Democrats and Independents who would otherwise support us, but for this issue.

I feel that after 18, anything goes. But I am wary of puberty blockers.

Weird how things went from people saying to me, “You’re too young! How do you even really know you’re gay?” when I was 17 to people advocating for blockers for young children.

by Anonymousreply 65June 20, 2025 12:47 AM

R64 They want the “right” to transition kids. Because they are insane.

It’s all part of the game. They pretend that it’s not happening, and that all of these news stories about transitioning children is just right wing propaganda, but they lose their shit when red states ban things that supposedly aren’t happening anyway.

by Anonymousreply 66June 20, 2025 12:48 AM

Puberty blockers and trans surgery for children is the new conversion therapy.

And conversion therapy for gay men is BANNED in many parts of the country.

Puberty blockers and trans surgery for children should be banned as well.

"A total of 27 states, as well as the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and more than 100 municipalities have instituted bans on conversion therapy and its governmental funding."

by Anonymousreply 67June 20, 2025 12:54 AM

I feel zero sympathy for the major ity of these people, many of whom behaved like complete assholes during the period when they thought "history was on their side." They agitated for the ostracism and outright cancellation of anyone who dared to raise concerns about the transing of minors. It has become clear over the past decade that many, many children who have been indoctrinated into this movement are in fact simply gay, and only need time and space to figure out who they are. Any attempts to advocate for these children were met with social and economical reprisals. These people have been brought to this place in history by their own movement's leaders and now they find themselves without friends. Well don't look at me.

by Anonymousreply 71June 20, 2025 1:17 AM

Acceptance always takes time. For gays, it took decades from when we started identifying as gay.

Trans has been here since ancient times. It’s real.

It’s just being demonized for political purposes like gay marriage was.

Those organizations?

“Chardoneesha was tragically shot and killed while burglarizing a home. Please send us money.”

When trans advocate/surgeon Marci Bowers admitted that she had never seen a kid who was on puberty blockers grow into an adult capable of having an orgasm, that should have been the end of the conversation.

by Anonymousreply 88June 20, 2025 1:34 AM

Sex refers to biological differences between males and females: chromosomes (female XX, male XY), reproductive organs (ovaries, testes), hormones (oestrogen, testosterone). Gender refers to the cultural differences expected (by society/culture) of men and women according to their sex. A person’s sex does not change from birth, though their gender can.

by Anonymousreply 89June 20, 2025 1:34 AM

[Quote] When trans advocate/surgeon Marci Bowers admitted that she had never seen a kid who was on puberty blockers grow into an adult capable of having an orgasm, that should have been the end of the conversation.

Because adult trans people don’t keep going to a surgeon.

Why not ask a trans person? Over 90% of trans are happy being trans

by Anonymousreply 90June 20, 2025 1:36 AM

The question of whether gender is biological involves distinctions between sex, gender, and gender identity, which are related but not the same. Biological sex is typically determined by physical and genetic characteristics. Gender is a social and cultural construct that refers to roles, behaviors, expressions, and identities that societies consider appropriate for men, women, and other gender identities. While it often aligns with biological sex, it is influenced by cultural norms, personal identity, and lived experience. Gender Identity is how a person experiences and identifies their own gender — as male, female, a blend of both, neither, or another identity entirely.

It is psychological and personal, not dictated by biology.

I wonder how many of you posting comments, whether in support or against, actually know any transgender people?

I know two: a 14-year-old teenager who is going through the process with the love and support of his family, friends, and physicians. The second person is someone who transitioned as an adult back in the late 1960s, receiving gender-affirming surgery at Johns Hopkins. She is now in her 70s and is very happy and successful. It took many years before I learned her story. And what a story it was.

In both cases, knowing these individuals so well has convinced the skeptical part of me that there really is a legitimate need for some people to consider this path, difficult though it may be.

One of three major centers for transexual surgery. Unlike Billy Boy, your friend was not rejected.

R98 That's because Dylan Mulvaney is trans for clicks, not because they're actually trans. Half the queer people running around on the social media platforms are just queer for clicks. Same with the "non binary".

I'll never understand how trans women can say they're championing for women's rights as a woman and then dress up like Donna Reed and act like it's 1962.

by Anonymousreply 115June 20, 2025 4:33 AM

Don’t trans women sometimes shit out of their vaginas? There’s some condition where the neo vagina gets a hole in it where it connects to the rectum, or something like that. The whole thing sounds gruesome.

by Anonymousreply 116June 20, 2025 4:52 AM

Puberty blockers affect brain development and skeletal growth. Not a good idea. Puberty blockers are not candy and are use to stop precocious puberty, which is dangerous. Puberty blockers long term effects have not been studied. This “trans children” have been used as guinea pigs. Europe and Scandinavia are finally pumping the breaks. The lawsuits are going to be legendary.

People now feel that puberty is not supposed to be a confusing time. Your body may be changing but your brain is still that of a child. You may not feel connected with what’s going on with your body. Now they’re telling kids that that confusion means a that they’ve been born into the wrong body. It’s sick and abusive. When you start advocating for drugging kids and messing with their reproductive systems, the state needs to intervene.

by Anonymousreply 117June 20, 2025 5:08 AM

And BTW, these same people who are all in for the drugs were the same ones screaming about Big Pharma and now say that a child’s brain isn’t capable of consenting until they’re in their 20s because their brains are still growing. Were then supposed to be believe that they’re old enough to advocate for drugs and surgery!? Make it make sense. It simply doesn’t. This is a cult. It’s Munchhausen by proxy, autism, and social media. These kids would have been beatniks or hippies decades ago. Now they’re trans. Unfortunately the way to be trans has deadly medical consequences. The medical establishment loves it because these kids will now been lifetime patients of theirs. They were already caught on tape talking about their needing more child sex changes. I’ve been to two hospitals and received messages about their amazing transitioning care. One of the top doctors is now under investigation for unlawful medical practice. It’s a woman.

No children are going ho did for not getting hormones. If trans kids always existed, show me a list of names of those who died from not getting treatment because for centuries there was no treating kids with gender dysphoria outside of therapy.

MTFs show up to gynecologist offices demanding to be looked at without uteruses or “bottom surgery” because it makes them feel like women. They want to face wombs implanted in themselves. This isn’t gender dysphoria. It’s a fetish and body modification. It’s the new cutting. If you advocate for this you must advocate for people with body dysmorphia being starved to death and agreeing that they’re old enough truly are fat. The psychiatric community is going to collapse under the weight of all the lawsuits coming. You have kids now calling up asking for their breasts and testicles back. And let’s cut the crap - there is a lot of homophobia when it comes to trans ideology.

All studies show that children with gender dysphoria grow out of it and more than half become gay or lesbian. They are now advocating for destroying that.

by Anonymousreply 118June 20, 2025 5:08 AM

These sick fucks are upset because the Supreme Court ruled they can’t mutilate children. And this is bad because why?

by Anonymousreply 121June 20, 2025 6:45 AM

R116, one of the saddest things you can read are the Reddit threads filled with people who regret their gender surgeries. From what I gather, the surgeons make them believe they are getting a functional vagina that is dissimilar from a natal vagina. In truth, it’s essentially a wound that they have to dilate every day, for hours a day, so that it doesn’t close up, a painful process from what I understand. Many of them complain about terrible smells and not being able to get any depth in there, even with the dilation. It’s very heart-wrenching to read. In many cases it makes the trans person’s dysphoria even worse once they realize the thing they’ve dreamed about isn’t what they expected.

by Anonymousreply 122June 20, 2025 12:03 PM

I don’t think that children should be on puberty blockers or cross sex hormones. If they feel that they are in the wrong body, they should wait until they are over 18 to start transitioning.

by Anonymousreply 123June 20, 2025 12:40 PM

Maybe the World Professional Association for Transgender can come up with a way to transplant vaginas from biological women into biological men. No dilation! Problem solved!

by Anonymousreply 134June 20, 2025 3:13 PM

I think Chase, as an adult, should have the right to make medical decisions that will alter the normal biological functioning of a body.

But issues related to that are entirely distinct from people of the same sex marrying each other.

by Anonymousreply 135June 20, 2025 4:09 PM

This is the paragraph that sums up my view. There probably IS a very small subset of minors that might benefit from this. But I’m not willing to sacrifice the other 99% who would be harmed by such treatment. Wait till you’re 18 kids. Sometimes life isn’t perfect or fair, sorry. But now, you’ve set up a ruling that could set a precedent for banning such things altogether. Congrats, Chase. With friends like you…

These questions — how doctors should balance medical evidence against a patient’s wishes — become trickier, Guyatt acknowledged, when it comes to children. Cass has stressed her belief that some dysphoric young people will most likely benefit from transitioning before adulthood — the problem is that doctors cannot yet reliably identify which ones. An unquestioning approach to gender-affirming care, Cass has argued, is precisely the wrong way to handle young people with a more flexible view of gender than earlier generations. “It only becomes a challenge if we’re medicalizing it, giving an irreversible treatment, for what might be just a normal range of gender expression,” she told The Times last spring.

by Anonymousreply 136June 20, 2025 4:19 PM

Gay children need legal protections from their Munchausen-by-Proxy mothers and the insane medical establishment subjecting them to "gender affirming care" until they are adults...by which time their temporary dysphoria has abated, and they're just regular GAY and LESBIAN people.

I'll have my posting privileges blocked again for daring to say this, as I do every few weeks for voicing ANY opposition to the demands of the Gender Identity Movement who controls us all.

[quote]The second person is someone who transitioned as an adult back in the late 1960s, receiving gender-affirming surgery at Johns Hopkins...

Johns Hopkins stopped doing sex change operations many years ago. They decided they were unethical, or at least not helping anyone. The cure for dysphoria is not radical surgery.

by Anonymousreply 137June 20, 2025 4:42 PM

We already had those. They trained us to believe we could change what we biologically were: gay.

And they are back targeting a population that is overwhelmingly gay, but is being taught that they can change their biology to avoid that.

by Anonymousreply 144June 20, 2025 5:44 PM

For the life of me I can't figure out why so many gay men and lesbians are having such fits when someone mentions that being gay or lesbian has absolutely nothing to do with fluctuating gender identities.

by Anonymousreply 145June 20, 2025 6:11 PM

What I love is the idea that - if it wasn’t for trans people - the gays would be loved!! The White Christian Nationalists would just LOVE us, if it weren’t for those pesky trans people!!

It’s trans people’s fault! They’re the reason they hate us!

The White Christian Nationalists want to be our friends! Many of them are already on this thread, posting their anonymous, fake Reddit posts about vaginoplasty that sympathise with unsuspecting trans people who were sold cheap, poor quality vaginas by Roto Rooter - which you can’t even fuck! And ALL OTHER PLASTIC SURGERY is great! No one’s ever had any regrets about that! Liposuction is 100% safe!

Also, these idiots who think trans teenagers are “subjected” to surgery. /smh THAT’S THE WHOLE FUCKING POINT OF PUBERTY BLOCKERS, IDIOTS! So trans people can avoid the trauma of puberty - with completely safe puberty blockers - and take time to develop further awareness of their gender identity. DUH.

Also, not all trans people have surgery. What they choose to do with their bodies is their business - and NONE OF YOURS. Plenty of trans people just do hormone therapy. All of you idiots think they all want to look like Barbie dolls or something but with fully working genitals. You’re so ridiculous. THAT’S YOUR IDEA, YOUR STANDARD - not theirs! They do what the need to do to feel comfortable in their own bodies. There’s no surgeries being performed on children. I can’t believe the often demonised gay people believe this SHIT.

You’re applauding a ruling that says it’s all right for people to misuse ivermectin - which is primarily used to treat worms in horses - to combat COVID but not all right for trans teenagers, in consultation with their parents and their doctor to elect to take puberty blockers - while other teenagers are perfectly welcome to take them for a variety of other reasons. Even Alito acknowledged in his concurrence that for him - this is about HATE.

You people must have no lives whatsoever, thinking you need to air your uninformed opinions on matters that are of no relevance to you whatsoever. That’s the sad part.

Don’t ban me right away. I just have a few interesting links to post first.

by Anonymousreply 150June 20, 2025 6:32 PM

Listen to this, you idiots! There’s ALL sorts of things going on in the human body that people are suffering from that you don’t know anything about! And just because it scares you or you like to punch down on marginalised people, doesn’t mean they should be denied life-saving care.

Go ahead, listen. You’ll like this one.

Plenty of people modify their bodies to align with their identities. It’s not just trans people. Puberty blockers extend people’s lives! I see comments on here saying, “Oh, they can just wait until they’re 18.” Puberty is THE MOST traumatic time for trans people!

For example, think back to when you were a 12 year old boy. You wanted hair on your chest, under your arms and a big bush of pubic hair. You want your shoulders to broaden and your balls to drop, etc. Your voice to deepen. Think about it, how manly you wanted to become.

Then imagine, none of that happens. Instead you start growing breasts - what are the other guys on the soccer pitch going to think?? And you bleed. You start menstruating. Your body has completely turned against you, it’s betrayed you and you just want to die. Imagine it, think about it.

And spare me your autogynophilia bullshit.

So many of you say trans people have nothing to do with us - BUT THEY’VE BEEN THERE ALL ALONG! Side by side! We were their refuge and they are our defenders! They fought right there, beside us. We’ve always been entwined. You think gay men discovered camp on their own? Please.

And what I don’t hear on this thread and what you all should be saying is: THANK GOD I DON’T HAVE THIS CONDITION. THANK GOD THIS ISN’T SOMETHING I HAVE TO SUFFER. WHAT CAN I DO TO HELP?

You’re all an embarrassment. To humanity. Reflect. Challenge yourselves. Stop the hate.

Thanks for gifting the link, OP; this was the most comprehensive, measured postmortem of the ACLU's strategy that I've seen yet. I hope Anthony Romero and everyone else there reads it with an open mind and learns from it, because it's clear their fatal mistakes were intellectual arrogance and a refusal to consider dissenting views.

You can't effectively craft, argue or defend your own position if you refuse to consider anyone else's. This failure before the SC has far-reaching implications for the entire country, not just the LGBTQ+ community, and we all need to hold the ACLU responsible for their part in it.

But some trolls love shamelessly displaying their low IQ.

by Anonymousreply 172June 20, 2025 7:52 PM

Disgraceful to see gays and mainly trolling lesbians celebrating a decision that was made by a conservative SCOTUS based on morality, beliefs and personal convictions, when this is actually a scientific debate where only scientific ethics and scientific takes should matter.

Hope they enjoy the homophobic legislation that follows.

That’s the problem of being a low IQ gay brainwashed by rightwing propaganda R175, you still do not understand that this isn’t about YOU or your boyfriend and your personal choices; but it’s about US, millions of us, gays all around the world.

Your rights didn’t just magically appeared they had to be fought for and the same people willing to take transgenders’ rights away and to call them crazy are also willing to take your rights away.

In other words, you may see yourself as so much better than trans but you are hated essentially for the same reasons they are. And it’s basically a fact that some 90% of cisgender heterosexuals who hate transgenders and love trash talking them on the web also hate gays and lesbians, always did.

Meanwhile, while you proudly parrot rightwing talking points, I will never ‘drop the T’ because reality remains that :

1 - Transgenders aren’t the ones bashing gay men. 2 - Transgenders aren’t the ones having a problem with the “flamboyance” and effeminacy of gay men. 3 - Transgenders aren’t the ones screaming that a marriage should be between a male and a female. 04 - Transgenders aren’t the ones chasing gay couples and shouting all sorts of abuse and slurs at them. 5 - Trans people aren’t the ones who think children shouldn’t have two fathers or two mothers. 6 - Trans people aren’t the ones claiming that gays and lesbians are morally wrong and are going to hell for being bad people. 7 - Trans people aren’t the ones claiming gays and lesbians can and should be encouraged to turn into heterosexual people. 8 - Trans people aren’t the reason closeted people are in the closet. 9 - Trans people aren’t the ones screaming that homosexuality is unnatural. 10 - Trans people never claimed that homosexuality was a pathology. 11 - Trans people aren’t the ones claiming gays and lesbians aren’t suitable to be elementary school teachers or to be around children. 12 - Transgenders are NOT the ones applauding and electing homophobic politicians.

by Anonymousreply 177June 20, 2025 8:32 PM

“For the life of me I can't figure out why so many gay men and lesbians are having such fits when someone mentions that being gay or lesbian has absolutely nothing to do with fluctuating gender identities.“

“Fluctuating gender identity” is nothing more than the human expression of preference. I prefer to act like a biological woman when I am not one. I prefer the color green. It is not science, and if you equate it with science, then you may as well believe in magic.

Then come to this GAY message board and start whining and victimizing themselves like the cunty babies that they are.

Centrist and leftwing women? The kind that stay out of datalounge?

Well, I get along with them very well, usually better than I get along with other gay men, but then, not every woman is a decent human being.

by Anonymousreply 194June 20, 2025 9:46 PM

As a cock-loving gay man, I feel sorry for you. Bless your heart.

by Anonymousreply 195June 20, 2025 9:47 PM

Feel sorry for the fraus who could be out there getting straight hard cock, but instead have dried up pussies and choose to spend their time on a GAY message board obsessing about trans people and thinking they’ll manage to convince others to drink the conservative kool-aid.

by Anonymousreply 196June 20, 2025 9:53 PM

[bold] No one has done more to hurt the LGBT Community in the last ten years than TRANZ Community. [/bold]Own it. All we (gay men) wanted was marriage. We didn't sign up to lose our rainbow flag, steal womens restrooms, take womens medals, or play around with idiotic pronouns!

Zzzzzz pathetic and predictable arguments, gay men all over the world want representation, visible role models, a sense that is very safe and advisable to come out of the closet and THE END of homophobia and homophobic beliefs.

The rights supposedly being taken away from you are not being taken away by any transgender, they are being taken away by heterosexuals who have ALWAYS thought of you as a menace to their perfect world, who don’t want you to be a part of their family, or any family for that matter and who you sadly try to cater to.

by Anonymousreply 198June 20, 2025 10:01 PM

Last time I checked, I have all my rights—same as any other man.

by Anonymousreply 199June 20, 2025 10:05 PM

No shite, R198. An orientation civil rights bill would likely pass Congress. However, straight liberal Democrats, between tearful sobs, would wail, "We could [bold]never[/bold] ' throw trans under the bus', says MUST accept that (lump it)!"

by Anonymousreply 200June 20, 2025 10:08 PM

The NYT has done an excellent job of covering the T extremism and the damage it has to done to various groups as well as the Democrats (especially Kamala last time). Excellent article.

[quote]That’s the problem of being a low IQ gay brainwashed by rightwing propaganda [R175], you still do not understand that this isn’t about YOU or your boyfriend and your personal choices; but it’s about US, millions of us, gays all around the world.

You're wrong.

Trans people and their issues have nothing to do with homosexual men.

The low IQ one is you.

by Anonymousreply 202June 20, 2025 10:12 PM

So you want to get YOUR piece of cake R200 while others should be left behind to rot and accept being treated as less than?

Thank goodness A LOT of heterosexual people nowadays don’t have your mentality, or homophobia levels in the US would match those seen in Uganda.

by Anonymousreply 203June 20, 2025 10:14 PM

Dum Frau R202, you lack knowledge about feminism if you RELLY believe the crap that you wrote.

The roots of homophobia and transphobia ARE THE SAME, end of story.

Whatever happened to that loudmouth black tranny who went on Piers Morgan with Riley Gaines? She was ranting about how there’s no difference between trans women and biological women, and then she went off on a rant calling Piers Morgan a disgusting white man, and saying that she can’t be racist because she’s black.

I think her name was Flower or something like that. God, I wish Piers Morgan would’ve just said “well, you’re a disgusting black man, and you look like Wesley Snipes in a bad wig”

by Anonymousreply 207June 20, 2025 10:58 PM

I think bottom line is everyone would be happier if Trans separated themselves from the LGB acronym and started their own movement. While it may not be the majority, it's obvious many gays and lesbians do not want them to be a part of their identity as a group.

Trans could then be as in your face as they wanted, put Dylan Mulvaney on a flag if they want, change the laws and more power to them if they can get it done. And there would be no infighting about Trans being normal or not from the same group seeking their support.

It's a cleaner definition as well, LGB is sexual orientation, Trans is a gender difference.

by Anonymousreply 208June 20, 2025 10:59 PM

R208 I think it is the majority actually.

Well, Janet's meltdown included torching Ryan Murphy AND complaining her $40,000 a week — a WEEK — salary didn't adequately compensate her true worth, so I don't imagine Hollywood was rushing to work with her.

Yes, and that group of people is CHILDREN.

There is no desperation to skip around anything. Children are denied a whole range of things, including drug treatments, because of their status as children.

You're grasping at straws.

The "there's no such thing as a male body; a penis is not a male body part. It’s just an unusual body part for a woman" argument is jaw-dropping in its kookiness. It's so far out of the mainstream, so abysmal. How does that hold up to scrutiny in any court of law, let alone before what are supposed to be the "finest legal minds in the nation"? Were there no external legal advisors around to rein in Strangio and the ACLU a little and make sure their case wasn't doomed from the outset? People outside their hyper-liberal bubble?

I follow Chase Strangio a bit, and I read their "No such thing as a male body" opinion piece, published in Salon or Slate years ago. It may be stimulating and provocative from a philosophical standpoint, but keep that stuff out of the courtroom if you want to win your case! But no, Strangio proudly laid it all out there.

I always thought the "no such thing as a male body" idea was such an insult to men, to everyday male lives. The world was BUILT by male bodies. Hundreds of millions of young men were targeted for their bodies and conscripted, with countless men losing their lives in battle or becoming disabled for the rest of their lives. Black males were forced into slavery for their bodies: for their strength and endurance, for their capacity to "breed" as "studs." Working-class men with little or no formal education often only have their bodies to offer when it comes to making a living, and sometimes end up physically destroyed by age 50 from their hard labor. Then along comes this middle-class attorney to set us all straight. They thought that kind of argumentation was going to carry the day?

I feel bad for genuine trans people, many of whom look(ed) up to Strangio and regard(ed) them as some kind of hero. They really do have some of the worst public representatives.

There are no MAGA gays except in your head. GAYs who are not onboard with Trans taking over their movement dose not make them MAGA. Grow up and stop trying to STEREOTYPE gays who don't agree with you trans narrative. Aren't you doing the same thing you are whining about?

by Anonymousreply 237June 21, 2025 3:34 AM

"Trans women are women" ended up completely backfiring in the United Kingdom. If something has to be repeated thousands upon thousands of times and still doesn't 'take', maybe it's time to come up with something new.

If Stonewall and other rights organizations in the UK had simply told the public: "There are a small number of people in any society for whom it *only* feels natural and right to present, and live, as the opposite sex. As a civilized society, we owe it to them to accommodate them and their needs as much as possible," they would likely have had more success with their campaign. Instead, they told people that trans women and natal women were exactly the same, and it became a social taboo to point out any perceived differences, including socialization. To prevent some people from feeling excluded, they also denied how sexual attraction between people actually works. They essentially, inexplicably, did almost everything wrong and are now experiencing the consequences.

by Anonymousreply 238June 21, 2025 3:49 AM

The NYTimes article threw the first brick at Stonewall!

by Anonymousreply 239June 21, 2025 4:04 AM

I think the dissolution of the LGBTQ community is upon us. The trannies just had their asses handed to them by the Supreme Court, and if the comments in the OPs linked article are any indication, the gays were ready to cut the cord about a decade ago. I suspect that over the next few years the trannies will continue to be attacked and the gays are gonna look the other way and say “I didn’t see anything.”

Zero introspection, as usual, from prominent trans activist Erin Reed, who claims that, in publishing six "anti-trans" articles, the New York Times has "lost all claim to objectivity on transgender people." Reed also goes after fellow trans woman Sarah McBride, who (according to the NYT article) advocated for “creating more space in our tent for different views on trans rights, especially around issues like sports."

The WWs are interesting in this thread. I'm unsure what contributions transpeople have ever made to gay civil activism to make it necessary for us to lay down in the bonfire for them. Could you educate me? And no myths about Stonewall I know better.

To me homo is sexuality and trans is gender, those aren't similar things and too many people turn off the critical thinking in their brains when they hear the word trans. So what's the glue binding T to LGB?

by Anonymousreply 244June 21, 2025 4:42 AM

R244 the “glue” holding the LGB and the T together is woke terror. Fear of being cancelled. But that glue is weakening as the gays are caring less and less about being cancelled.
