Prisoner in Disguise

I woke up in the middle of the night then thought about this album. I have no idea why. Listening to it now. What a great album, incredible musicianship and lyricism. Linda was awesome. In September 2025 it will be 50 years since it release.

Is this it? Or another? What a mystery.

sweet version of Tracks of My Tears

by Anonymousreply 6June 19, 2025 5:32 AM

Here's the album. My favorite songs are the title cut and "The Sweetest Gift." Also, hers was the first version I heard of "I Will Always Love You."

It worries me that we haven't heard from her in any of the Brian Wilson threads on Instagram. There's an account called LindaRonstadtMusic, which is followed by brianwilsonlive. He sang harmony on her song "Adios," and she's recorded "Don't Talk." I hope she's doing well.

thanks r7. My "cool aunt" gave it to me as a birthday gift.

R7, she has had parkinson's for a few years.

Linda Ronstadt was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2013. She first noticed symptoms in 2000, but did not receive her diagnosis until several years later.

I had forgotten that Ronstadt recorded "I Will Always Love You." just a year after Dolly first issued it in 1974.

She was the first vocalist to have a commercial cover version releaesed.

Linda had an amazing instinct of what to record.

I wonder why OP couldn't include a link?

r10 r9 It is actually something called progressive supranuclear palsy with which Linda is afflicted. I so miss her voice. I had always hoped she would do another album of standards, including "The Way You Look Tonight."
