Cleaning ladies (and guys)

Do you have someone come to your house once or twice a month to do dusting, vacuuming, etc.? I used to think it was just the wealthy, but I know middle class people who pay for this.

I guess it may not be too different from paying someone to mow your lawn.

The last woman I had cleaning for me, kept moving my stuff around. It would take me hours to find stuff afterwards, so I had to let her go.

The time before that was great, a semi-monthly, light dusting and surface cleaning and they would make my bed if I stripped it, best HOA ever.

The first time was awkward because it was my roommate’s service and he made those women cleaned his clothes and washed his dishes. Too much boundary crossing. No one was surprised when he OD'd a year later.

I am considering it for my Townhouse. I am slowly cleaning walls and doors after having a sick kitty for a while. When I looked at the costs, it is surprisingly affordable.

Mine just texted that she’s in hiding.

When my late bf was a teen, his family had a cleaning lady come in every week,I thought that was the most! to say the least!

I just paid $300.00 for a deep clean on my 3 bed, 2 bath house in NJ. That included baseboards, windows, window sills, kitchen cabinets, ceiling fans and ceiling beams in addition to the regular sweeping, dusting and mopping. I thought that was such a bargain I tipped her an extra $100.00 after I saw how much work it was.

The plan is to have her come back quarterly for deep cleans and once a month for maintenance for $125.00.

I want to hire a nude housekeeper. I, however, do not want encourage sexwork as part of the bargain.

I had a cleaning lady when I was younger and couldn’t really afford it. I stopped and it was a major life error. Just having the routine of someone coming regularly kept me neater and more organized. I think that spilled into other areas of my life. Looking back, it was cheap life coaching and therapy.

We have someone twice a week.

But we have two big dogs, one of whom is quite elderly and doesn’t have total control of some bodily functions, so there is lots to clean and launder.

Twice a week as well, just me. I just cant clean a bathroom or do the laundry. I wish cleaning was therapeutic for me, but it is just not the case. Money very well spent.

R9 I have never been neater than when I had someone coming every couple of weeks to clean the place.
