This war talk's spoiling all the fun at every party this spring.
I get so bored I could scream! Besides... there isn't going to be any war.

There already IS a war and it's escalating OP. Now Trump is deciding whether the US will actively join in.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | June 19, 2025 12:45 AM |
Because Trump decides that, not Congress.

Congress doesn't do anything R2. Nothing whatsoever.

TACO

What countries are likely to join in with the USA?

Forget it

What's a party?
I'm so old I don't get invited to parties anymore.
Peace, out.

R2 - How many trillion of dollars have been spent and how many thousands of American soldiers have died since 1941, the last time Congress declared war?
by Anonymous | reply 8 | June 19, 2025 2:19 AM |
We haven't had a declared war since WWII; all the others were "police actions."
And that's how presidents get us into a "war."
Semantics.

Congress still has to approve it. Remember 2008, when one issue was that Hillary voted for war in Iraq?

He's not going to do it, mark my words. Trump is many things but he is not a warmonger. He is terrified of war. Also just the threat of US action has Iran running scared. He will keep the world in suspense and Iran shitting in their pants until they break down. It's all a negotiating tactic and how you make a "deal".

[quote]He is terrified of war.
Ah, but he personally doesn't have to "go to war." That's what those suckers and losers are for!

I've been saying forever that when we decide to deploy American troops -
1. - Congress has to declare war
2. - Initiate a draft. Every American has to have skin in the game. And that would include everyone; men, women, etc. No exemptions.
3. - Raise taxes to pay for it

You are hilarious!
Troops have been deployed in LA -- did Congress approve that?
Anyone who believes that the Constitution will stop Trump from doing whatever he wants to do needs to pull their head outta their ass and look around.
