I have been a university professor for 30 years. Every year there are specimens of JFK Jr calibre on campus and even sitting in my classrooms. Fantastic looks are a delight, and I'd say about 1 out of 50. Maybe 1 out of a 100. You dont have to have French-Irish good looks to be fantastic looking, either.

I think there is a limit to gorgeousness. Let's say it's a 10/10 of gorgeous. There aren't really 11/10s because there is no need to be more gorgeous when you are already a 10.

Totally disagree about Jr. peaking at that age. He was never a twink kind of pretty and his handsome manly looks would only age beautifully into a grey fox.

I will agree, however, on Jon-Erik Hexum as a perfect runner up to JFK Jr.

You had to see John Kennedy Jr in person to completely ‘get’ his overwhelming appeal. It was like looking at a young, gorgeous animal of tremendous vitality. He was tall, had a large head (like many stars) and he always seemed completely comfortable in his skin, unlike so many contemporary ‘stars’ who huddle in their hoodies if they have a bad hair day.

The office of George magazine was part of the Hachette magazine group at 50th and Broadway and I was working in the Times Square area at the time. I once saw him leave his office building, hitting the sidewalk just ahead of me. He exuded magnetism, and was a local NYC celebrity, instantly recognizable. He turned west on 51st Street, heading for 8th Avenue, and though that was not the way I was headed, I followed him at a discreet distance — how could I not?What struck me was that every person — every single person that passed him on the sidewalk heading toward Broadway, recognized him and visibly reacted to seeing him, and as they passed him, they stopped dead in the street to look after him. I’m talking men, women, black, white, young, old. People were struck dumb by his masculine beauty and aura of charisma. The only other celebrity I saw getting that kind of reaction in the street was Paul McCartney.

Clearly that Kennedy aura was misleading, he obviously had insecurities — why else would he have saddled himself with the cold, castrating, nagging, skeletal bitch he got married to? But his mother clearly got him used to strong, opinionated women who hid behind a veneer of fashion and femininity. But purely on looks, take my word for it, OP is right, he was masculine beauty personified, a Greek god come to life.
