Belinda Carlisle’s new single

A cover of the Hollies “The Air that I Breathe”

The Hollies original is just so beautiful I can’t think of anyone doing the song justice.

Boring

Eh, it's ok. I do like her voice and it's a decent cover. But, I love the original.

OMG that video! It's like MTV Kazakhstan.

I love everything about her, but this song (and the others on her album track list) weren't what I wanted from her.

I'd love her to cover the Bangles, Bananarama, or the B-52's on a tribute cd.

Most of these tunes are just doing fine by their original artists.

Desperate over-the-hill cokehead

A sixty year old releases a song. Now Belinda enters Ethel Merman territory.

After the video shoot she pulled down the shiny silver backdrop and declared “I got me a dress to make!”

The Hollies’ version makes me practically swoon - I don’t even want to hear Belinda’s cover. I felt the same about “It’s My Life” by Talk Talk. Such a beautiful, lush song that Gwen Stefani made whiny.

Yeah, this was a nope

I wasn’t optimistic, because nothing can top The Hollies version…but I streamed this song last week and have been listening to it a lot. I do like it.
