Or she would deeply discount her singles to $.49 or gave them away free when they were doing horrible at radio. This is very well known. Billboard had to change their policies numerous times because of her chart manipulation. No one in the world believes that all of those songs would’ve hit number one organically. She’s a fucking cheat. And I will never respect her because of that. But don’t think for a minute that everyone in the industry doesn’t understand this.

This makes sense to me. Tommy Motolla was looking for a Whitney competitor for his label - and he pushed for her HARD. (She also fucked him and married him but that's another story).

I've never been a huge fan - so this appeals to me.

I like Mariah. This song isn't much but it has some grace notes that recall the output from her heyday. Regardless, she's basically a modern-day version of a Gabor sister, and we should all be grateful for that.

I was face to face with her after her Vegas show back in January and can confirm that she looks incredibly well-preserved. Whatever work she may have had has been minimal. I’d say probably a nose job in the 90s and then just fillers and Ozempic since. I’ve seen my share of plastic surgery faces and hers is not that. I don’t think she leaves the house anymore without a full face of kardashian-style contour makeup, but regardless she looks excellent for her age. The new song, I could take it or leave it.

The video is visually entertaining in a high-sfx, AI, excessive filters way. And she looks fantastic though, again, filters/AI etc so who knows what the original input looked like.

Her voice though. What has happened? Can Ms Carey even sing any notes at all today in her old-style way? This all sounds like a generic female-vocals bot. I cannot detect anything distinctly Mariah in this.
