It doesn't specify what country. I don't think it's Cory Booker because he has never been married. I'm guessing maybe Tim Scott. Since it sounds like this person was a “bachelor” for a large part of his political career.

Although I assumed it, the writer does not say that the closeted politician is associated with anti-gay policies. This makes the question kind of silly. It’s hypocrisy that would make it a close question. If the politician is not anti-gay, of course he shouldn’t out him.
