That British guy who survived the plane crash in India .... how would it change your life if it happened to you?

I think I would laugh hysterically for about 24 hours and hope they put me on a plane ASAP. Because, but for that hysteria, I may just plant myself in that city and never leave by air.

by Anonymousreply 28June 13, 2025 6:24 AM

I'd become a nun.

by Anonymousreply 1June 12, 2025 10:21 PM

Somebody survived? Holy shit.

by Anonymousreply 2June 12, 2025 10:27 PM

I might go completely the opposite way, R1. Total whore with the attitude of "world, you tried your best to FUCK me over, and I'm fucking back".

But maybe no orgasm can surpass the thrill of walking away alive from piles of corpses, twisted steel and fire.

by Anonymousreply 3June 12, 2025 10:27 PM

I'd probably go catatonic for a few days. then I'd go like OP and r2.

by Anonymousreply 4June 12, 2025 10:28 PM

I’d be in therapy so intense I would probably need around the clock care. And can you imagine the PTSD? Like that 4 year old who was the only survivor on the plane in Detroit — how does one go on with one’s life?

by Anonymousreply 5June 12, 2025 10:29 PM

sorry I meant r3 not r2

by Anonymousreply 6June 12, 2025 10:30 PM

Keep in mind his brother died in the cash. If you didn't know anyone else on the flight, it would probably be easier to deal with some parts of it. PTSD must be a bitch from that regardless tho.

by Anonymousreply 7June 12, 2025 10:31 PM

Ah, R7. Well that makes a huge, sad difference.

by Anonymousreply 8June 12, 2025 10:35 PM

It's crazy he survived. I hope he goes on to do good and enjoy his life.

by Anonymousreply 9June 12, 2025 10:36 PM

I could finally eat strawberries without fear

by Anonymousreply 10June 12, 2025 10:40 PM

I would never fly on fucking Air India again, I can tell you that much.

He has a wife and toddler at home.

by Anonymousreply 13June 13, 2025 12:10 AM

Statistically, his chances of being in a plane crash again are almost zero.

by Anonymousreply 14June 13, 2025 12:23 AM

Statistically, those were his chances to start with, R14.

by Anonymousreply 15June 13, 2025 12:25 AM

survivors guilt

by Anonymousreply 16June 13, 2025 12:36 AM

Full-blown sexual hedonism.

by Anonymousreply 17June 13, 2025 3:17 AM

Miracles do happen.

For most people, I think being the sole survivor would spark an existential crisis, questioning every aspect of your life.

For others, it's an M.Night Shyamalan movie.

by Anonymousreply 19June 13, 2025 3:26 AM

Lawd this like Unbreakable.

Are you Barbara T? The one who said, after exiting The Towering Inferno, "all I know is that before I built a skyscraper I would consult the FIRE DEPARTMENT first! "

by Anonymousreply 21June 13, 2025 3:35 AM

On both physical and existential levels he will need a while to process his existence.. Survivor guilt must be intense and just the whole process of the mundane turning to terror, horror then the quiet realization he was the only survivor in a pile of death and rubble. It must have been one hell of an experience akin to observing a miracle and a curse, at once.

by Anonymousreply 22June 13, 2025 3:44 AM

Bitch Op we’d still kill you. No matter what. Even in that 24 hrs.

by Anonymousreply 23June 13, 2025 4:10 AM
