Who are more annoying

People who are super anal and fastidious and OCD about everything, can’t have a hair out of place or a dirty dish in the sink

Or people who are on the sloppier side of things. Not filthy but rather sloppy and unorganized

You made the clean version much more extreme. I wonder which one you are, OP?

People who are slobs are the lowest. No one says you have to be over-the-top tidy, but an actual "slob" is disgusting.

by Anonymousreply 2June 10, 2025 11:18 PM

Slobs really are ynbesrable, OP. I hope you neaten up.

It depends. As a friend, I'd choose the slob.. But as a roommate, I'd choose the neat freak. I'd rather occasionally put up with being scolded than live in filth. But I doubt I could get along with someone like that. The slob might be decent company when removed from their pigsty.

My sister is over the top and borderline OCD when it comes to cleanliness. She can't stand to see footprint marks in her carpet, so she constantly vacuums. And she's so proud when she cleans her oven that she sends me pictures of it.

My brother, on the other hand, is a complete slob. His house looks like something you'd see on an episode of Cops when they raid a drug addict's den.

I'm more on the clean side, but I'm not a fanatic like my sister is. I'd rather hang out with the clean people, but even I can only take so much of my sister and her fastidiousness.

by Anonymousreply 5June 10, 2025 11:34 PM

OP, are you having a stroke?

by Anonymousreply 6June 11, 2025 12:05 AM

I’ve dated people like r2. I’m happier single

I'm a major clean freak, but don't foist my neurosis on anyone else--I'm a secret cleaner.

My boyfriend would almost always rather be at my place than his (because my apartment is much cleaner and nicer), and when we're hanging out and fucking and whatnot at night, I don't follow him around with a dustbuster or get bent out of shape when something spills or breaks. I go to bed with him all casual with our mess left out, then I wake up an hour before him and secretly clean everything and climb back into bed. I do the same when family/friends visit. I love hosting and making people feel comfortable in my home, and getting anxious about neatness doesn't make people comfortable, so I just shove all my anxiety down until they're gone.

Basically, I'm the Cleaning Fairy.
