My introduction to these was on Today last week. I thought times were tight, having to listen to everyone bitching about the financial burdon of having to pay back student loans. Apparently not, since all the people profiled & waiting in line to spend $$$ on these things were of that demographic...you know, young upstarts who can afford the cost of living but have all frills that look like impressive on the socials.

I imagine you got that idea because the size of their fleet is close to or has surpassed ours. That doesn't mean it's as capable. For example, unlike our nuclear powered carriers, China's air craft carriers still have to refuel.
There won't be any Chinese invasion of America for quite some time.
