Help me vote NJ Governor primary

Do I vote for the candidate I prefer—the Mayor of Jersey City, who is a bit of a dweeb with liberal/progressive leanings running an an anti-machine platform, or the party machine’s choice—my member of Congress, who is more moderate and emphasizes her military background. I think she may be a better candidate against MAGA which has been making inroads in NJ

Go for a moderate. The extremes (both sides) are destroying our country.

by Anonymousreply 1June 10, 2025 5:26 PM

The Mayor is not an extremist, but he is trying to appeal to progressives.

More guidance.

Ask Mikey. She likes everything.

by Anonymousreply 4June 10, 2025 8:38 PM

It’s Mike’s race to lose.

In other news, Bloomberg just endorsed Cuomo.

This is the first election without the heavy hand of the “County Line” which basically was a Column A of every machine endorsed candidate for every office. There often was no one running for many offices in any other column because the County Line always won.

Now each column is all the candidates for each office listed in random order

We can thank now-Senator Andy Kim who challenged the machine when it tried to install the governor’s wife in Menendez’s Senate seat.

No. No civic minded adult should advise you on this matter.

The ability to vote is one of our few remaining rights, and you disrespect that right and yourself by asking others to decide for you.

SMH.

by Anonymousreply 8June 10, 2025 8:50 PM

I’m not asking people to decide for me. In fact I’m going to go with the minority choice in the poll. I just wanted to know what others thought about the situation of feeling that your preferred candidate is not the strongest in the general election.

R9, I think for the first time ever, I hate all of them. I even hate the little midgets constantly threatening to take down "that schmuck Trump" who are running for Mayor of NYC.

Back to NJ, Mikie Sherrill is running as a progressive. In her ads she's always about to board a military jet or something. Yeah, we get it you served in the military. I'm sick of seeing that asshole Fulop "taking on Trump" by running up and down the steps looking like a high school track team reject. I wonder if they had oxygen at the ready by the second take. Then you have all four feet of the wee one Gottheimer in boxing gloves "taking on Trump." Yeah, okay. Make sure to duck. Every cycle someone takes on Trump by acting like machismo asshole. I wish these candidates would Just list their policies and stop acting like Stallone in his prime.

Hope this helped, lol.

So, who did you vote for, OP?

by Anonymousreply 11June 11, 2025 12:04 AM

Mayor Fulop.

by Anonymousreply 12June 11, 2025 12:37 AM

He lost

Wha wha…
