Trump to promote $1,000 ‘Trump Accounts’ for newborns at White House event
Trump is set to host a roundtable at the White House on Monday to promote a key feature of the sweeping Republican domestic policy bill – a provision that would provide every American newborn with a $1,000 investment account, a White House official told CNN.
The accounts, which the administration has dubbed “Trump Accounts,” would be established for all newborn US citizen children under a pilot program included in the House-passed legislation.
The government’s $1,000 contribution would be placed in an index fund tied to the overall stock market and managed by the child’s legal guardians. The accounts will start at $1,000 per child and guardians or other private entities can contribute up to $5,000 additional dollars every year throughout the child’s life.

“The creation of investment accounts for every child will compound into substantial nest eggs providing support for education, home ownership, and starting families. Dell Technologies will proudly match dollar for dollar the government’s seed investment into these accounts for all the children born to Dell team members. This bold move to an ownership society for all included in the Reconciliation Bill will have profound and far-reaching benefits for the country,” said Dell Technologies CEO Micheal Dell, who will attend the roundtable Monday.

Dictator Donnie wants the unwashed to procreate. I love the part where it says the index fund will be managed by the child’s legal guardians. There are parents in this country who sell their children to pedos for crack. What is wrong with guy? I mean seriously.

How far would $1,000 go for a new parent? A month of child care if they can find a super cheap provider?

I don't understand. So when do the parents get to use the money? If the parent(s) can take the money out of the account at any time then this vehicle doesn't benefit poor people.

What an administrative mess. At best, it would grow to four or five thousand by the time the kid is an adult. Most of the value will be eroded by Trump’s pro-inflation policies.

It’s a great idea. And that has nothing to do with who proposed it. I wish Biden Harris had done this. I really wish FDR had done this. I’d be a lot richer today,
The money is not for the parents. Give each new US kid an investment account. That could change their life forever in a positive way and encourage a new generation of savers and investors.
I like this idea a lot more than giving a shit-load more money to former college students who knowingly ran up debt and now what others to pay that debt off.
In the same vein if you want to stimulate the US economy quickly and help local business , give every true poor person an extra few $1000 .

I wish Biden had more of the crass political id that Trump has.
Biden passed all sorts of things that benefitted all sorts of people who had no idea it was even happening because he didn't pay attention to branding and blowing his own horn.
It was admirable but politically detrimental.

Maybe the Democratic Party should lead the charge and strongly oppose these investment accounts for US newbors?Anyone think that is the way back to democratic victory in 2028?
The democrats need to think of this sort of intelligent give away long before Trump does. It would help with winning with becoming popular again. The democrats were the more popular party once..
Compared to paying off college loans for a few who ran up their own debt this idea is brilliant.

This is a scam. We can't even comment on the program because like every Trump scam it is just a concept of an idea. This is just $3 to $4 billion a year which is less than Trump is stealing from the government.

It’s an investment in americas future and children. . You as a gay man with no kids may see that as a scam. Most of these babies will be born to middle class and poor kids. It’s one of the better give away programs I have seen,
Go ahead and have the Dems oppose that
