Yea, all those illegal steroids he sucks up like candy really do a guy good.
70 years old and probably still fucks like a jack hammer.
A drugged, roided out jack hammer but a jack hammer nonetheless.

Susan, did you notice that the guy who promised you Roe v Wade was established precedent voted to overturn Roe?
And now the guy who said he believes in vaccines is doing his best to rid the country of vaccines.

If the rate of vaccinations drop dramatically in, say 10 years, and autism doesn’t decrease or perhaps increases, what will the “vaccines cause autism” crowd say?
by Anonymous | reply 26 | June 10, 2025 7:30 PM |
Can’t be diagnosed with autism if you die before 3!

I am just flabbergasted that this guy is opposed to them. It truly boggles the mind. I know at this point it shouldn't. But it does.

by Anonymous | reply 30 | June 10, 2025 8:11 PM |
It’s bad no doubt it’s really bad and may get a lot worse. Bad Bad Bad.
But I may be one of the few on DL to have run a federal advisory board . I am sure there are some advisory boards that do an important job. Most programs though “ usually “ have absolutely no use for an advisory board and don’t want one.. A waste of time and a waste of lots of effort.
When the program wants program help on an issue or problem or want actual advice they hire expert consultants, We hired the best in the world and they advised us.
The best thing an advisory board can normally do is recommend and support what the program people already want to do. A rubber stamp. Often or at times used against the admin in power by the program people. :-)
Many committees are loaded with friends and political supporters of the current admin. GOP and Dems alike on this. It’s a political perk to be chosen. Often donors are invited to serve.
If my Principal had not been so strong I would have had a whole committee full of friends of the admin, JHC none the admin sent me and demanded I take were remotely qualified for anything,
I was lucky.
I have no idea how important or not this advisory committee is or was. But the fact the admin wants their own chosen people on the board is not at all surprising with this or any admin. You always want the people you picked to advise you not the people picked by those that disagree with you and support the people you just beat.. .
Glad I am retired :-)
Winners decide and take over and losers leave. It’s always that way.

R31 As someone who sat on NIH advisory panels over the course of 30 years and had many colleagues who served on NIH panels, I can tell you that what is happening now is not “business as usual.”

Asepsis, sanitation/disinfection, and *vaccination* are why many of us are still here as adults. I just can’t believe the ignorance (more delusion at this point) of MAGA is actually succeeding in undoing our greatest achievements in public health. Just goes to show the rightwing has absolutely no qualms about sacrificing their supporters if it helps keep them in power.

I honestly believe their plan is to save billions in Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid payments by killing as many older and unhealthy Americans as possible.

I can't bear to listen to him. Whatever is wrong with his voice and his general demeanour is too much for me to listen to or look at. Then there's the fact that he's a QAnon anti-vaxxer type who is RUNNING the DoH&HS. It's just too fucking bizarre. R38 & R39 are correct.

R46, his voice is attributed to spasmodic dysphonia. It must be hereditary because his sister suffers from the same condition. The rest is drugs, drugs and more drugs (and a way too much sun.)

I find it extremely difficult to have any sympathy, kindness or understanding for his condition and how it must affect him because I find everything about him so repulsive. I know that makes me a bad person, but in this case - I'll just be a bad person.

Fun Fact: RFK tried to get on board to promote the Harris campaign for some position in the cabinet, but they turned him down flat. So he then turned to Trump. He's a self-serving unprincipled douche.

I'm just saying we didn't have these people who talked weird when I was a kid, people who will never be able to.takk without making people want to cover their ears. We need a three-month investigation to find out why we have them and make sure we don't have any more.

R57 we sure dogged a bullet on that offer. Good for Harris sticking to her principals. How fucked up would it be today if Harris was potus and musk was an advisor.?
As you point out so well we dogged a bulletin on that offer of help and his millions we did not need.
Principals over winning is the way to go,
by Anonymous | reply 61 | June 12, 2025 3:49 PM |
R32 panels? So not an appointment as an advisory committee member? If Harris wins next time and asks you to head up her VAX program
And you see that every member of your advisory committee is a maga trumpet. And you need to use and depend on these members. What’s the first thing you would do as far as the committees make up?
I sure know what I would do. Remove them all at once and get my own professionals in.
