California Governor Gavin Newsom said that President Trump "has created the conditions" surrounding the Los Angeles protests. The governor went on to call Trump's decision to deploy the National Guard "a manufactured crisis," then addressed White House border czar Tom Homan's threats of arrest. "Tom, arrest me. Let's go," Newsom said.
A visibly angry Newsom also said he had spoken to Trump and that Trump had later lied about what was discussed during the conversation. Newsome calls Trump a "stone cold liar". Now Trump wont take Newsom's calls. Newsom says Trump has manufactured this crisis and is making it worse by inciting violence. Newsom demands Trump remove the National Guard and then work together with California to clean up "Trump's mess". Trump initially said he was deploying 2,000 troops under Title 10 authority. Newsom accuses Trump of deliberately destabilizing democracy and of being an authoritarian. Newsom, interviewed at the LA County Emergency Operations Center, is so angry that he narrowly avoids saying "fucking" on live TV.
