This is the first year that I have ever seen it framed this way, and it’s kind of confusing. Being gay or lesbian isn’t exactly like being black or Asian. I’ve never had anyone want to hire me to fill their DEI quotas.
Why is Pride Month being associated with DEI this year?

Sometimes I've wondered if my being gay had anything to do with my being hired. Especially that time I blew the senior team leader at the Gap in a dressing room. I still remember the songs from the playlist that day.

Because anything and everything associated with the Gay Community needs to be performative and (anti-) virtue signaling, OP.

Pride has been associated with DEI for the past five years, at least from the corporate perspective.

Because gays are a part of DEI. Only an idiot would think it was only about black people.
Gays fit a quota.

I have been hired in the past because someone wanted to fill my quota.
