Remembering Dino on his birthday in 1958's "Some Came Running"

Small town melodramas are a favorite genre of mine. Maybe it's because I grew up in a small town where there was always drama! In 1958's "Some Came Running," this small town gets a visit by the Rat Pack--Frank Sinatra, Shirley MacLaine, and Dean Martin. A great cast, plus the star power trio, put this soapy drama over. But it's birthday boy Dino as gambler Bama who steals the show, IMO. My look at this juicy story here:

Directed by Vincente Minnelli, released the same year as his Best Picture Oscar winner Gigi.
