Why?
Did people really go to their hairdressers and demand their hair to look like a fungus?

look up Bonnie Franklin r1
by Anonymous | reply 2 | June 6, 2025 9:57 PM |
R2 that was the Dorothy Hamill haircut.

r3, when my mother did it in the '70s it was called a mushroom cut. My father complained about it for about 3 years until her old "Bewitched" hair grew back.

Great link as an example, OP, you desperate fatass.

Bonnie’s did not look like Dorothy’s.

Is your girth preventing you from reaching the keyboards to type Google with your hands?

r7 We don't search. The OP would want the reader to willfully engage right away. You'll do better.

Since OP couldn't be assed, this is the mushroom cut. It was huge when I was in middle school in the mid-late 90s. The Gen X version was the bowl cut. For Gen Z's, it's the broccoli cut.

I was a hairdresser through the 90s, R9. I remember that being called a skater cut.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | June 6, 2025 10:57 PM |
I'm not a barber or a hairdresser, but I am older than firt, and we called the cut at R9 a "Moe Howard" or a sugarbowl haircut.

Dorothy Hamill was the only one who looked good with that hairstyle. Carol Burnett looked awful. Schoolgirls did indeed look like mushrooms.
Hamill still has a variant of that cut and still looks good.

Do you mean the Dorothy Hamill mushroom cut or the more recent "Edgar," worn by Hispanic boys?

Hey R7, Google this: “FUCK YOU”

Huh. Was that just a regional thing? I only ever remember it being called a mushroom cut.

^Esepcially because skaters in the mid-late 90s were absolutely not wearing their hair like this. This was very much the jock/pop boiz look. The skaters either had their hair down to their shoulders or spiked it up with masses of hair gel.

Of course the Beatles all had that cut or a close variation of it back in the early to mid-‘60s. And then there’s the iconic Mr. Spock.
Like a poster said above, only a few can pull it off and look good though.
