Oh no- ANOTHER category. People get so excited that they can attach another bullshit label to themselves and stand out in a crowd. I guess it's better than Nonbinary which sounds like someone who's in another dimension.
For those not up to speed: Demisexual is experiencing sexual feelings and attraction only after developing a close emotional relationship and not on the basis of first impressions, physical characteristics, etc.
So you like to get to know people before hopping in bed. Big deal. My question is - how LONG does it take?
So if you meet someone at a bar and start talking to them, an hour later, are you good to go? Did you not start talking to them or keep talking to them for an hour because you were at least somewhat sexually attracted? Of course you were.
It's bullshit.

R1- I agree. People who are like do not need nor deserve another category.
Another one I don't like is SIDE for guys who don't like to fuck or get fucked. Not EVERYTHING has to be labeled. I do like to fuck sometimes- just for your information.
SIDE- I'm not a a container of Cole Slaw 😒

R2 - I've seen 'switch' used a lot also. I'm assuming that means 'versatile' but I'm not sure? Any thoughts?
The primary delusions with Demisexual are a) they're denying they are sexually attracted to people just by looking at them and b) they somehow think majority of people are DTF by just seeing someone.
That's not how it works for 99% of people. I've met a lot of hot people of both genders and 5 minutes into the conversation, you want to leave because they're a bore, stupid, annoying voice, or other.

What fresh hell is this?

I'm no Dan Savage, R4, but I think the term "switch" is used more by the dominant/submissive people, for a person who can play either role.
Remember 10-20 years ago, when the young people would lose their shit if you tried to classify their sexuality in any way? "How dare you try to label me! My sexuality is so unique and nuanced that it defies categorization! I can't be fenced in by your definitions!" Now the pendulum has swung completely to the other side, where we have these endless classifications and subcategories for sexuality, gender, and romantic attraction, with dubious distinctions between many of them. I'll eat a bug if someone can convince me there's a substantive difference between a pansexual and an omnisexual.

It's no wonder why young people don't have sex anymore - who the hell can figure it all out.
