Tasteful friends, may I present Allee Willis' home for sale

Eccentric, very successful songwriter. The house looks like a real life Pee Wee's Playhouse. You'll either love it or hate it.

The MCM parts are fun but the clutter like in the kitchen makes me sad.

I appreciate the dedication to the theme. She died 6 years ago and someone kept the house like that?

Those are bowling balls. It’s a dentist office in the front and playland in the back.

I love the mix of windows and I can smell the plastic covering those divans.

Zillow prices it at 2/3rd the ask. But that’s 2,000 square feet and you get three baths.

by Anonymousreply 3June 6, 2025 4:16 AM

I think I would prefer 3 bdrms/2 baths instead of 2 bdrms/3baths.

Interesting that the zillow estimate for that property is $1,292,000 - 700,000 less than asking

The house does nothing for me but I want that 1955 Studebaker Commander out the front

I love how there is a treasure pretty much everywhere - or clutter, if that’s how you feel. I don’t love the exterior pink - it’s got too much grey in it and feels sad to me, which is the opposite of the interior vibe. Nice find, OP. I will probably look at the pictures more carefully, since there is so much to see.

by Anonymousreply 7June 6, 2025 7:37 AM

I actually prefer the exterior to the interior, aside from the dirt patch with the bowling balls.

Why hasn't her stuff, including the gaudy self portrait, been removed (is she important enough for a celebrity auction?), and the house staged for sale? Emptied out, and properly restored, it could be spectacular.

Nobody would buy that property as is. Still, it's interesting to see how she lived there. It's all very "pop."

R4, In my experience the number of toilets bathrooms should equal the number of people. An extry half bath for visitors is ideal.

I was stuck with one bathroom and a parent who liked to nap on the potty. The cats guarded their litterboxes from me - knowing I might emergency squat in their box at any moment.

A charming cottage.

by Anonymousreply 11June 6, 2025 4:08 PM

I’d buy it as is.

I remember a few years back Allee and her home were featured on CBS Sunday Morning.

As for the price, the Zillow price may be correct for the home on the land as it stands now, but most people buying in that area would demolish the existing house and build a bigger one.

The outdoor furniture are replicas of Barbie’s.
