It’s been nearly 12 years and the information about his current state is virtually non existent. I can understand the need for privacy but I believe the public should have some insight. Surely the money is running dry with all the constant care he requires?

In the 2021 Netflix documentary "Schumacher," his wife and son made his status as clear as they could while still technically honoring his pre-accident "private is private" rule. They speak of someone who is there physically, which seems to comfort Corinne more than Mick, but otherwise absent. Some of their quotes are at the link.
His net worth was so enormous at the time of the accident that as long as it was sensibly invested there should be no trouble covering his expenses for the rest of his life (beyond anything Switzerland's compulsory insurance covers). Even if there was a shortfall, they'd have a long list of corporate and individual benefactors willing to intervene.

I’m assuming he is paralyzed and has some brain damage and difficulty speaking if at all.
