It's the end of an era.

Good riddance to bad rubbish.

He needs a breast lift.

They sure as hell cranked up the male body objectification

by Anonymousreply 3June 6, 2025 2:59 AM

What will pnp sluts wear now?

by Anonymousreply 4June 6, 2025 3:05 AM

I liked his commercials.

It’s a new era of modesty!

by Anonymousreply 6June 6, 2025 4:14 AM

That’s terrible

by Anonymousreply 7June 6, 2025 4:30 AM

How many bb whores were infected with HIV and other STDs while wearing his slutty jockstraps and thongs?

What a legacy to be proud of.

by Anonymousreply 8June 6, 2025 4:33 AM

So proud!

by Anonymousreply 9June 6, 2025 5:07 AM

He is a successful gay man and his underwear is worn by many. Good for him. His underwear wasn't my preference, but good for him. Nothing catty to say.

by Anonymousreply 10June 6, 2025 6:43 AM

Odd that he's closing it down. Most design houses live on long after the original designer has retired and died. I know it's only underwear, but it is still a big business.

by Anonymousreply 11June 6, 2025 6:47 AM

Design house?!

Are you mad? Or on K?

by Anonymousreply 12June 6, 2025 7:16 AM

Most DLers are too fat to fit into his underwear anyway, so it doesn't make a difference.

by Anonymousreply 13June 6, 2025 11:37 AM

r1 Could never fit into them, huh?

by Anonymousreply 14June 6, 2025 11:46 AM

r8 That might be one of the stupidest things I've read on here in a while.

by Anonymousreply 15June 6, 2025 11:50 AM

Sexy sluts

by Anonymousreply 16June 6, 2025 1:15 PM

R15 The rising tide of stultifying puritanical disapproval in our era (which fuels an authoritarian movement) has recently touched DL more and more.

by Anonymousreply 17June 6, 2025 1:37 PM

Now I know how the Greeks felt as the Parthenon crumbled.

by Anonymousreply 18June 6, 2025 1:38 PM

Meh, I always preferred Nasty Pig brand.

by Anonymousreply 19June 6, 2025 1:45 PM

I have to wonder what brought this on - tariffs? Bored after 25 years? Or did it just peak and it fell out of favor as most fashion does? Or there could have been some bad business decisions/investments.

I've always liked the story - a young gay designer creating a brand for our community and doing well. They ARE a bit pricey, but I have a few pair and have always liked them.

It really is a shame.

by Anonymousreply 20June 6, 2025 2:03 PM

R17 it’s been here a long while. Don’t you know that looking at a gay man in “that way” will lead to an antibiotic-resistant STI, if not The AIDS.

by Anonymousreply 21June 6, 2025 2:12 PM

Underwear causes AIDS!!!!

by Anonymousreply 22June 6, 2025 2:18 PM

Lingerie is for ladies, I let it all swing out.

by Anonymousreply 23June 6, 2025 2:19 PM

I'm guess I'm largely an assimilationist. I've stuck to Calvin Klein, Brooks Brothers and JCrew. And one pair of AussieBum bulge enhancing briefs.

I didn't know that AC was expensive. From a distance I always saw them as socially downmarket.

There is a YT vid where the Wild Boys podcasters visit his manufacturing center in Weho. If that's the proprietor in the video he's not attractive. Better for him to be behind the scenes.

by Anonymousreply 24June 6, 2025 3:27 PM

[quote] Meh, I always preferred Nasty Pig brand.

I recently found out a mild-mannered 59 year-old friend of mine wears Nasty Pig underwear he buys online, and it was hard not to smile.

by Anonymousreply 25June 6, 2025 3:36 PM

Brooks Brothers?

Even my dad gave up on those…in the 90s.

Clavin Klein - stereotypically gay.

by Anonymousreply 27June 6, 2025 5:24 PM

R27 - to be fair, there are only a few underwear brands that I trust for fit - 2xist and CK are two of them.

Nasty Pig is rather bland, overpriced and targets immature middle-aged men who feel the need to think of themselves as masculine and butch. The typical bear - close-cropped hair, beard, jeans and then some Nasty Pig or other t-shirt or apparel.

I laugh at people who wear Nasty Pig - it's so try hard.

by Anonymousreply 28June 6, 2025 5:32 PM

R28 is one of those Chelsea gays who thinks he’s special because he can see the High Line from his studio apartment.

by Anonymousreply 29June 6, 2025 5:34 PM

a rental* ^

by Anonymousreply 30June 6, 2025 5:35 PM

…for which he pays thousands.

by Anonymousreply 31June 6, 2025 5:37 PM

…and who tells people it’s “actually West Chelsea…” with a straight face.

by Anonymousreply 32June 6, 2025 5:39 PM

R28 here - Nasty Pig is for the "Do I look butch now?" crowd of grown-up awkward fey boys who feel like if they grow a beard and buy this t-shirt/brand then they're masculine.

by Anonymousreply 33June 6, 2025 5:48 PM

Have you paid the rent on that studio for this month R33?

by Anonymousreply 34June 6, 2025 5:52 PM

Was it iconic?

by Anonymousreply 35June 6, 2025 6:01 PM

Here’s an icon for ya:

by Anonymousreply 36June 6, 2025 6:02 PM

The sell AC, at a discount, in the porn shops of 8th Avenue…

by Anonymousreply 37June 6, 2025 6:06 PM

R37 Klassy

I'm sorry he felt the need to be trendy. What other brand or brands did he opt for?

by Anonymousreply 39June 6, 2025 7:34 PM

[quote] Clavin [sic] Klein - stereotypically gay.

True, but iconic. Brand that has truly passed the test of time.

by Anonymousreply 40June 6, 2025 7:37 PM

Oh, he died in his sleep from pulmonary edema—in his boxers. On Thanksgiving morning.

Thanks ever so much for asking!

by Anonymousreply 41June 6, 2025 7:37 PM

Emporio Armani, anyone? (black)

by Anonymousreply 42June 6, 2025 7:38 PM

Who are you talking about, Anonymous at r41?

by Anonymousreply 43June 6, 2025 7:40 PM

Look up! It’s 39z. Duh.

by Anonymousreply 44June 6, 2025 7:41 PM

I'm sorry for your loss, R42. My dad died on the Monday after Thanksgiving, in ICU since the Tuesday before.

by Anonymousreply 45June 6, 2025 7:41 PM

🤔

by Anonymousreply 49June 6, 2025 7:55 PM

He is…

by Anonymousreply 50June 6, 2025 7:56 PM

.... all of you label queens ...

by Anonymousreply 51June 6, 2025 8:47 PM

R49 - don't be obtuse - Nasty Pig makes all sorts of clothes, not just underwear. Idiot.

And yes - it is an embarrassing label to wear - don't act like you don't see a brand (clothing, car, luggage, etc.) and don't immediately have a bad association with it.

You're not so high and mighty.

by Anonymousreply 52June 6, 2025 8:57 PM

Got it. So I'm an "idiot" because I can't readily identify Nasty Pig outerwear.

And I'm "high and mighty" because I DON'T judge people's labels, let alone luggage??? whatever labels those night be.

by Anonymousreply 53June 6, 2025 10:12 PM

Maybe he's going to sell the rights.

by Anonymousreply 54June 6, 2025 11:54 PM

[quote] to be fair, there are only a few underwear brands that I trust for fit - 2xist and CK are two of them.

R28 I agree. I've been wearing 2XIST and Calvin Klein as my go-to brands for more than 20 years. Good quality and value for the money. Good range of styles.

I bought some Tom Ford briefs a couple years ago and really like them. Honestly, I'm surprised TF hasn't done more in the men's underwear category. Sex and edginess are strong themes in his brand. I bet if he expanded his line, he could really compete and maybe take the lead of in the upscale men's underwear market.

by Anonymousreply 55June 7, 2025 12:02 AM

Did he ever make any underwear for men?

by Anonymousreply 56June 7, 2025 12:03 AM

As opposed to men who are stuck in adolescence and have to parade around?

by Anonymousreply 57June 7, 2025 12:09 AM

AC underwear= instant boner killer

by Anonymousreply 58June 7, 2025 12:58 AM

AC seemed to have its heyday about 10 years ago. I'm guessing he tried to sell the brand but couldn't get what he expected.
