Who should have replaced Delta and Jean on Designing Women?

I think it would have worked better if they had Julia Duffy and Jan Hooks switch roles. Duffy also looked more like Jean than Jan did. And they would have found the humor in those characters much better.

Judith Ivey's character did not work at all. Let's just leave it at that.

Ivey was a relief after the writer’ls made Duffy’s character so bloodless and nasty.

In a perfect world they would have cast Beth Broderick as Charlene's sister and had Jan Hooks play the Sugarbaker cousin. I don't think Duffy could have pulled off Southern hick
