I might go just to report back to DL from Triple A baseball America.

Left to my own, probably not, but I usually end up joining friends for a few hours of the weekend of events, but then I don't live in the U.S. and it manages to be a big thing with bare minimum corporate sponsorship/involvement.

Unfortunately, I expect violence at some Pride events, since the perpetrators know that there will be no repercussions from the govt. and that they will be seen as folk heroes by MAGA.

No, but I will, one way or another, be at a No Kings rally.

I believe that's more important.

I am helping set up a display at the celebration in our main park Saturday.

Rumor has it that the Proud Boys are showing up. I will be there to get in a fight with them, if the local sheriffs don't show up.

Helen Pixley and I are doing our annual Rice Krispie treat giveaway at the senior center in support of the homosexual festival! Also Mavis Perkins homosexual grandson is leading a "disco classics" sit and be fit dance aerobics class! Iona Henderson will decorate the mobility carts, walkers and wheelchairs with flashing lights to add to the party atmosphere!

"Mr.Ray" from the Buns and Bangs Salon of Elegance well temporarily come out of retirement and provide makeovers for the residents! Lilt perms and blue rinse refreshers will be provided !

Last year some of the colored staff put some alcohol in the punch although it was against the rules secretly I turned a blind eye to it! I believe the name of the liquor was Penny? I asked Roland one of the dietary aids if they plan to do it this year and he smiled and winked at me! I handed him a donation of $20 to help with the purchase of this Penny liquor they used!

In an abundance of caution we will have an additional defibrillator on hand just in case one of the residents becomes overly excited!

R5 :-)

when was the last time you fought in a ring or had a fist fight with a stranger? Talking about fist fighting strangers on a gay forum is not quite the same as having a fistfight.

An actual lesbian forum might be different,

I m betting most will do more running than fighting if the Proud Boys show up and the police don’t protect.. The smart ones anyway. They could always run and hide and then come back later to help their friends search for their teeth that are somewhere on the ground.

My advice if you do go—-wear gloves with brass knuckles inside. Or your fastest running shoes.

Sure, why not

[R7], As I child, I was the classic little gay boy getting picked on, losing at sports, playing with girls.

As an adult whose been married to a man for over 30 years, my confidence has grown. Those idiot Proud Boy types don't scare me. I am ready and waiting for their BS.

Yes, just to help the attendance #s. I don't normally go, but I'll go this year out of spite. I'd hate to contribute to the "Pride attendance was way down! See, told ya" Trumpers.

I missed my city's Pride because I was traveling that weekend, but I'm going to a MLB Pride night later this month and gaying it up (rainbow baseball cap w/team's logo and a lot of skin). I did this a few years ago and was equally tickled by the stern-faced reactions of disapproval and disgust from homophobes as well as the surprising amount of cruising I received, some from seemingly "hetero" male fans. Also got a lot of approving smiles and compliments without sexual intent. Fuck the 'phobes, this is our month to truly "shove it in their faces."
