If I’m honest, I prefer Jojo to Joss Stone for that last spot 🤷♂️
Teena is a powerhouse favorite, but I love Amy and Annie’s styles way more.

Teena Marie made the most authentic classic R&B of anyone in the poll. Square Biz, I Need Your Lovin’ etc.
But my heart goes to Annie Lennox. Her pop-gospel riffs and innate sense of melody and phrasing were THE BEST. Annie even held her own in a duet with Queen Aretha!

The original blue-eyed soul sister of Motown, Chris Clark, "the lark."
Loves Gone Bad is your classic Motown under-achiever, sales wise

Oh DEAR R4! My ears.
She should’ve been dragged off with a hook.

I understand wanting to include Teena Marie but she doesn’t belong here though. Teena Marie was adopted by the black community, she’s like an honorary black. I don’t count her as blue eyed soul, she’s just black music haha.

The omission of Alison Moyet here is criminal.

I was just coming to post Alison R11! Absolutely criminal.
Alison Moyet should have been on this list. Her massive voice blows many of those names right off the list. I mean - Lisa Stansfield FFS.
I saw Alison in concert last Sunday night and at 63 she is as vocally stunning as ever and looking fantastic as well.
