These variety show medleys and K-tel commercials helped introduce and de-demonize the world of pop music our parents had often left behind. Hopefully ‘The Kids are Alright’ was covered by Kate Smith with the New York Dolls.

So sad that, through the years, she has sometimes resorted to ridiculous makeup like that and, later, plastic surgery, all because she has apparently felt unattractive for her entire life. I guess it wasn't enough for her to know that the world loved her for her talents and simply didn't care that she wasn't a beauty.

The only thing better than Julie singing "Let It be" with her impeccable posh enunciation is Carol bellowing out "And the Wichita Lineman... is still on the LIIIIIIIIIINE..."

Didnt Carol once sing "Owner of a Lonely Heart"?

Those outfits are hideous and what's with Carol's hair. Neither one of them looks particularly good here

[quote]r8 What's with Carol's hair?
Burnett said in some interview that the night before the taping, she blithely thought she'd give herself a few highlights by running a comb dipped in peroxide through her hair. She got somewhat carried away, it came out light orange, and there was no time to fix it [bold]: o

This is when Julie came out as bilingual.

Dat make no sense.

I feel bad saying this, cuz they’ve been a couple so long - but Julie’s way of out of Carol’s league, isn’t she?
Carol must munch muff like a champ!

How anyone can deny that these two were (or are) having a long-term sexual affair astounds me.
