I know it's Datalounge's MO to hate Janet, but I think this could be such a fun collab. They (and, of course, Madonna) are the definitions of survivors in this industry. There are so few pop artists who started in the 80s who are still going. They obviously have a lot to bond over. As someone mentioned up thread, Janet was just at Kylie's Tension Tour stop in London. If I recall correctly, she also took in Kylie's Vegas residency last year and raved about it.

I can't remember if this was for the Tension album or the Disco album, but, apparently, before one of those albums started taking shape, the brief was very different... Kylie and team were reportedly using That's The Way Love Goes as a reference point. She obviously went in a different direction, but I could see that "flavor" working well.

That's a very optimistic take, R45. IF there's any truth to this, I think there's a good chance it could be a good song and it would generate lots of press. But as much as I love these two women, neither of them is going to bother the charts at this stage. It's not going to be popular by any 2025 commercial standard.

From the way Padam was talked about for the better part of two years, you'd think it was a monster hit. The song didn't even chart in the U.S. These days we all live in such media/culture bubbles. Because Padam seemed to be "everywhere" in our circles, it probably did feel like a monster hit. But outside of the gays (and a few gals), Padam didn't really exist.
