MrBeast Claims He Has 'Very Little Money' and Is 'Borrowing' Cash from His Mom
Despite being worth an estimated $1 billion per Celebrity Net Worth, MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, claims he has "very little money" and needs his family's support to fund his upcoming wedding to his fiancée, fellow content creator Thea Booysen.
Responding to a post on X which described MrBeast as "the only billionaire under 30 to have not inherited his wealth,” the YouTuber with more than 400 million subscribers responded late on Sunday, June 1. “I personally have very little money because I reinvest everything (I think this year we’ll spend around a quarter of a billion on content)," he posted.
"Ironically i'm actually borrowing $ from my mom to pay for my upcoming wedding lol," he continued, adding, "But sure, on paper the businesses I own are worth a lot."

I worked with a loser who would constantly brag about how he had money to burn. But then he would turn around and ask if he could borrow 10 bucks for lunch because “all I have on me are hundred dollar bills. “He used to always talk about how he was in the process of opening a club. He never opened any fucking club.

My favourite thing about this turd is that every time his articles pop up on the larger subreddits, comments mostly turns into a discussion of his perma-dead eyes.

Sounds like he's terrible at business if he can't figure out how to carve out a sustainable salary from his billion-dollar financial empire.
Oh who am I kidding. He's just a lying scam artist who lies as easily as the rest of us comment on the weather.

r8 A very good thing, he's the worst. An American who saw Squid Game and thought, "Hey, I could do that in the real world!"
r9 They don't show up in your feed because you don't watch that crap. But millions of kiddies all over the world do because their parents don't give a shit, as long as they leave them alone.

Well, he’s co-authoring a book with James Patterson, so he should be set for life. I find Patterson’s novels poorly written (and stopped reading them twenty or so years ago), but the mass reading public obviously disagrees with me.

by Anonymous | reply 17 | June 4, 2025 2:23 PM

You can say he is stupid, but he worked hard at creating a successful YouTube channel (and still works hard) and is the first person to get 400 million subscribers. He did something right.

R18 calling someone a psychopathic grifter is not the same as calling them stupid. Read the thread. "He did something right." When? When he targeted little kids for his grifts and rigged lotteries? WTF is wrong with you?

You used to be able to get his candy bars at Big Lots, so they must not be too successful.
Also, his big grift at Resorts World in Las Vegas a few months ago was only amusing because the people who bought into it were such goofballs.

If you exercise any discretion in your media habits, he is easily ignored. Until this thread, I was only aware of his name, and knew nothing else about him. I decided to read up a bit about him. He's famous for being famous. Indeed, he admits as much. Early in his YT career, he studied how to create viral videos. He succeeded.

Being worth an estimated $1B but not planning for any kind of liquidity is beyond absurd. Even setting aside a small a 1% for the purpose of living expenses will result in $10M of available funds. Either he is not worth anywhere near $1B (probably less than $100M) or he is a charlatan.

R12, I thought Patterson died a few years back and the family estate had authorized another writer to write in his place. Or is it that he has taken in a terrible collaborator. I agree, his books are nothing what they used to be.

He employs his mother to manage his money and be his company’s COO, so she’s also an idiot or he’s lying about not having enough money for a dual influencer marriage.
But, it’s just lies, part of this Youtube personality is how much money he spends on Youtube and giving back to his fans instead of spending it on himself,
