Leave It to Beaver is an American television sitcom that follows the misadventures of a suburban boy, his family and his friends. It starred Barbara Billingsley, Hugh Beaumont, Tony Dow and Jerry Mathers.
CBS first broadcast the show on October 4, 1957, but dropped it after one season. ABC picked it up and aired it for another five years, from October 2, 1958, to June 20, 1963.

One of the best and most enduring television shows ever.
While 'Leave It to Beaver' never broke into the Nielsen Ratings top 30 in its six-season run, it proved to be much more popular in reruns.

R4. Well, Jerry Mathers is the last living cast member of the principle four.

I wonder if they left it to Beaver in their respective wills.

If only Tony Dow had lived. He was beautiful.

Great child actor; horrendous adult actor.

He did a good job as Wilbur on Broadway in "Hairspray".

Jerry’s mother just turned 98 a few weeks ago.

I loved that show. It was my 'special place' I could go to while enduring a very tough and violent childhood. It sounds funny now, but I used to pray every night that I could go live with the Cleaver family.

The greatest band name I've ever heard was The Eddie Haskells. It was on a flyer for a show I saw when I was in college. I almost went to the show just to see what kind of band it was.

Larry Mathers, the luckiest man in show business.

Wally was HAWT even before I realized what HAWT was as a young gayling!

When does the Jerry Mathers "Thoroughly Pathetic Tour 2025" kick off?

It's surprising how enjoyable, and sometimes wryly self-aware Leave it to Beaver is.
There are little moments when it seems in on the joke. It is funny how enduring its appeal is.

Expound upon the self-awareness claim, R27. Give us some examples. Very interesting.

Clearly you never heard of Eve's Plum

Puberty was not at all kind to Jerry Mathers. But puberty was incredibly generous to Tony Dow.
