U.S. Job Corps Centers to close by June 2025
The Department of Labor announced this week it will pause operations at Job Corps centers nationwide, a move that has already gotten pushback from both sides of the aisle on Capitol Hill.
The department said it will begin a “phased pause” initiating “an orderly transition for students, staff, and local communities.” The pause will occur by June 30.
Job Corps, established as part of the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964, is a free residential education and job training program for low-income people between 16 and 24 years of age.

If Congress were a self-respecting institution then this (and a lot of other stuff) wouldn't be happening. This was established by Congress.

Every federal program that has helped poor and disadvantaged people in the United States for the past 50+ years, is now being dismantled by Trump.
He really wants to completely demolish every single social safety net program in this country.
It's absolutely heart breaking to watch.
