Assuming this isn’t some false flag event and the correct perpetrator and motive identified, I hope it shakes some sense into those who oppose the Israeli government’s war tactics but haven’t divorced themselves from those who would use this to excuse violence against Jewish people. At this point, there are plenty of prominent Jewish figures, some of them Israeli, who have spoken out against what’s happening in Gaza on the basis that the people there are human and deserve to be treated with humanity.

You can’t all treat all people with the same characteristic (including the same religion) as a monolith to justify violence against them. That should be the point, because I’m sick of hearing about how thousands of years of religious dispute means the only solution is maximizing the civilian toll now. That goes for both sides.
