People are nostalgic for '90s/2000s NYC, when conservatives ran the city.
There was law & order and much cleaner/safer and was featured in many beloved rom-coms of that era.
Social media has shown them via archival footage/old home videos what a shithole NYC was under Democrats in the '70s/'80s. It almost went bankrupt.
And many are experiencing the same NYC nowadays.
