I liked it. I am broken hearted and ashamed, but I liked it. Seema's a whiny cunt, and the finger bang was killing me, but I liked it. Easy, amusing. If this was E1, S1, we'd be raving.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | May 30, 2025 2:42 AM |
I liked it too. It was very simple and easy and lighthearted. It felt like what season 1 should have felt like
by Anonymous | reply 31 | May 30, 2025 2:43 AM |
It was airless. I want grit. I want middle-class striving Carrie. Her manse is cringe.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | May 30, 2025 2:45 AM |
Grit? You must have never watched SATC.
Go watch Breaking Bad.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | May 30, 2025 2:48 AM |
WTF happened. This was a really good, really funny episode. Seema is officially Samantha and I love her. I hope this continues for the whole season.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | May 30, 2025 2:51 AM |
Seema is nothing like Samantha nor should she be like Samantha. She’s a different character.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | May 30, 2025 2:53 AM |

Didn’t feel like a season premiere at all. Did they even explain Che and Nya’s departures?
by Anonymous | reply 54 | May 30, 2025 11:08 AM |
I was just listening to an interview with Michael Patrick King, and it strikes me how much he really doesn’t get it. He said that Sarah Jessica told him everyone was going to hate Carrie because of this ridiculous new home she has, but he told her she was crazy. That instead, everyone was gonna love Carrie because it’s aspirational. So tone deaf. It was both a weird and terrible choice to make every character ridiculously wealthy. In the same episode, you have the young woman saying that Miranda’s former townhouse was her goal. You have both Charlotte and LTW living in expansive Park Avenue apartments. No one even thinks about money. It’s simply not how New Yorkers, including very high net worth New Yorkers, live in 2025.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | May 30, 2025 11:50 AM |
Actually, let me clarify my statement. You could have a show where they are all ridiculously wealthy, if that were your thesis statement. For instance, Gossip Girl. But if you do that, you have to throw some other wrench in the plan, like they’re all in the thick of raising young kids. Or they have big jobs. Or they’re under some sort of serious threat. Whatever it is. But both the reason for existence and proof of concept of the SATC world was always that Carrie is in everywoman navigating modern New York. Now you have her in the. .01% without any real problem to speak of. A woman who didn’t have kids. Whose biological family has never given her problems. Who has moved from fantasy job to fantasy job with ease. It’s just a bad framework to begin with, and the less than stellar writing doesn’t help.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | May 30, 2025 12:02 PM |
Has Rosie ever played a character that wasn’t mentally retarded?
Also, she was playing a virgin nun who never had sex and her first time was with a political tilt a whirl?
I’m convinced MPK hates John Corbett because that phone sex scene was so incredibly cringe it was unwatchable.
And Seema is not Samantha. She’s an unmade bed.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | May 30, 2025 12:26 PM |
Seema should’ve also been cut. Actually, I would’ve been totally fine cutting LTW as well. From the beginning, the writers have been fighting the original formula (no Carrie voiceovers, not the original gals, etc) because they wanted to differentiate the show. It was another mistake. It feels like they are slowly reconning it back a little, but it’s too little too late.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | May 30, 2025 12:29 PM |
For R55: The infamous (scathing, possibly unhinged harsh even for that movie) review of the worst of the movies:
"[SatC2] is 146 minutes long, which means that I entered the theater in the bloom of youth and emerged with a family of field mice living in my long, white mustache. This is an entirely inappropriate length for what is essentially a home video of gay men playing with giant Barbie dolls."
by Anonymous | reply 59 | May 30, 2025 12:35 PM |
Yup, R59. I remember Tina Fey saying something very early on in the original series run. This is when everyone loved the show and the quality was good, and she did as well. But she said something to the effect of how she had never met a single New York woman who acted like any of these women. How they were really gay men.
MPK seems similar to Andy Cohen in his insistence that he has some sort of special insight into what makes these women tick. But both men seem to approach it from the lens of gay culture, not the lens of actual NYC woman. It’s Truman Capote esque.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | May 30, 2025 12:42 PM |
Now that Carrie is alone, she lives in a huge house twice the size of where she lived with big?
I never want to see Carrie Bradshaw have phone sex.
This was the worst episode yet.

by Anonymous | reply 64 | May 30, 2025 1:32 PM |
The new series is retarded but still appealing somehow. Some of the fashion is still fun to see.i do t like Seema she’s annoying
by Anonymous | reply 65 | May 30, 2025 2:13 PM |
It does feel like the SATC2 writers remain in charge.
by Anonymous | reply 66 | May 30, 2025 2:23 PM |
Seema's like original recipe Charlotte, whiny and needy, with Samantha's dry delivery and Miranda's neuroses.
By the end of the series she will probably be happily married to a woman but fired from the show.
by Anonymous | reply 67 | May 30, 2025 2:24 PM |
Like I have nothing better to do on a Thursday night than watch an elderly social X-ray finger herself.
And what did Miranda use to get Mary off? A basketball?
by Anonymous | reply 68 | May 30, 2025 2:50 PM |
Didn't the sex happen rather quickly for lesbians?
I mean, and maybe this a by gay men standards, but wasn't Sister Mary was the kind of gal who needed to earn the but she has a great personality badge before she visited Miranda's snackateria?

by Anonymous | reply 73 | May 30, 2025 3:48 PM |
I hate that they made Miranda a lesbian because it’s basically been all she’s played for the past three seasons. She used to be the most interesting character.

It doesn't make sense that Miranda is living like a nomad while Steve and Brady are settled in a loft.

by Anonymous | reply 79 | May 30, 2025 6:17 PM |
Real talk: I hate the minority storylines. I don’t care about Seema or the other one
They should have created a brand new show with these characters.
by Anonymous | reply 81 | May 30, 2025 6:35 PM |
I love Nicole Ari Parker but her Lisa character is so bland she makes Charlotte look interesting by comparison. I blame the writing, not the actor.
by Anonymous | reply 83 | May 30, 2025 6:58 PM |
No more scenes with Aidan alone in his car. The crying thing last season plus the j/o scene in ep. 1, just no.

They did the storyline last season where Miranda was unhoused and sleeping on the professor's sofa. To quote Valerie Cherish, who was offered Samantha before Kim Cattrall, I don't need to see that.
It's a comedy drama about 3 wealthy white women pushing 60 who do fabulous things. They experienced hardship like that time Carrie lost her computer and was kept awake by chickens and Samantha was kept away by the trannies. They dated men who still lived with their parents.
If you want something more gritty, watch something more gritty.
by Anonymous | reply 91 | May 30, 2025 7:47 PM |
I’m not sure that the series was ever supposed to be particularly relatable—with the exception of the sex and dating stuff.
by Anonymous | reply 92 | May 30, 2025 7:55 PM |
R91, a massive townhouse on Gramercy Park isn’t just wealthy. It’s a whole other level.
And no, I will watch what I want to watch, and I will also give my feedback on what I think would help what is probably the most roundly criticized show on TV.
by Anonymous | reply 93 | May 30, 2025 8:10 PM |
But it was relatable, R92. The original series run, and particularly the first few seasons, were a heightened version of a New York that felt very familiar at the time. It was toward the end of the run, and especially at the time of the first movie, that they decided to instead lean into the over the top displays of wealth.

I don't understand what they're doing with Aidan. If he's gonna be Carrie's long distance boyfriend then make him her long distance boyfriend. If he's not gonna be her long distance boyfriend, then write him off the show.
by Anonymous | reply 98 | May 30, 2025 8:38 PM |
Tasteful friends, this is the high end of the market.
I'm starting to think that this show is post-criticism and post-cringe. We all know what we're in for.

by Anonymous | reply 108 | May 31, 2025 12:34 AM |
I like LTW and Seema, but juggling then as main-level characters is a lot. The show seems rushed like they HAVE to fit so much stuff in every episode.
by Anonymous | reply 109 | May 31, 2025 12:40 AM |
This episode was more like the old show.
SJP looked 81 during most of it until she was doing the phone sex scene where she actually looked like a good looking older Carrie. Watch it again. You saw her SATC face a bit older. She should never wear her hair pulled back.
by Anonymous | reply 110 | May 31, 2025 12:43 AM |
R109 Totally agree. They never should’ve made them main characters. No one cares. They tried to do too much diversity, which I’m all for, but they did it badly.

I don’t mind LTW and Seema. I’d rather watch them than the endless “Miranda’s a lesbian now” shit.
by Anonymous | reply 116 | May 31, 2025 1:19 AM |
They’ve tightened the ensemble enough now that they should be able to serve the main characters in an hour long episode, it’s just that everyone’s storyline is pretty darn boring and few of them overlap in a meaningful way. There’s nothing tying it all together the way the original series did via the Carrie column/voiceovers.
by Anonymous | reply 117 | May 31, 2025 1:27 AM |
Carrie's clothes are more ridiculous than ever, esp. given that she now looks old. Seema is just annoying as is Charlotte's home life. Miranda must have had one heck a makeover because she looks better than recent pics of Nixon. The nun storyline just seemed random. The phone sex thing just seemed random.
by Anonymous | reply 118 | May 31, 2025 1:48 AM |
I would have preferred they keep Che and her tackiness than Seema.
by Anonymous | reply 119 | May 31, 2025 1:49 AM |

R56 only no. They’re all in their 50s. The storylines you’re creating are for young people. Gossip Girl was HS kids. These are women getting near 60. And rich people exist. Many do. In NYC. Living in the areas these ladies do.

R60 that was a criticism of the OG series by a few critics back in the late 90s into 00s. Many people said the women were actually gay men, especially Samantha.

R83 couldn’t disagree more. I liked Lisa a lot this episode. And she’s so pretty.
by Anonymous | reply 128 | May 31, 2025 3:20 AM |
R85 she got paid to do almost nothing in the final seasons of SATC and in both films. Her entire storyline in the final season was getting pregnant, same with the first movie and then her storyline in the second movie was her being a mom.
by Anonymous | reply 129 | May 31, 2025 3:21 AM |
R93 issue is no one wants your “feedback”. Also, complaining on a random forum isn’t “feedback”. It’s just complaining. Look up what feedback is.
If I don’t like something I don’t watch it. Who hates something to the point they complain about it FOR HOURS straight but refuse to stop watching it? That is ridiculous behavior.
by Anonymous | reply 130 | May 31, 2025 3:24 AM |
R94 the series was not relatable. Only the first 2 or 3 reasons. The women gained more wealth with time. It happens. That’s life. Some people score. Some don’t. Charlotte married rich and then inherited an apartment worth millions and jewelry etc. worth millions, and then married a lawyer. Samantha was always pretty wealthy from the start. Miranda was a successful attorney. Carrie was the only one who struggled with money at times and then Big happened. A millionaire.
When he died she inherited his fortune.

Seema is the opposite of Samantha
Samantha wanted a lot of sex but without real intimacy or affection and pushed away men who wanted more.
Seema wants sex with intimacy and affection and is pushing away men who won't give her that.

SJP's hat in the park was so over the top, it screamed: "I am a woke supporter of nameless fashion designers trying to get their name out there" and she looked beyond ridiculous. Her townhouse on Gramercy Park is basically billionaires row these days, and her going from a small one bedroom to this monstrosity is another tone-deaf move. The show has no heart and definitely no soul. If you take a turd and a brownie and blend them together you get 'And Just Like That'. :(
by Anonymous | reply 148 | May 31, 2025 11:28 AM |
R123, I wasn’t saying those should be plot lines for AJLT. I’m saying that to heighten the stakes and create a compelling show, you have to give your wealthy characters more obstacles. In my opinion, that is one of the major flaws of this show. The stakes are extremely low.
by Anonymous | reply 149 | May 31, 2025 11:29 AM |

In real life, Seema would be washed up and too old to find anybody, because she's too high maintenance and probably crazy. She's the kind of new friend who doesn't last long because eventually you say oh, now I get it.

R147, I love that song too! One of the most annoying things I’ve noticed is the canned Muzak-type music they were using in both the movies and the new show. I always attributed in to the salaries of the actresses being so high that they couldn’t afford the rights to good music anymore. The sappy stuff they were using was so jarring, they had pretty good music for the shows. The music in this episode was much better.
I will say that I thought this episode was better written in that it had the lightness and ease of the earlier seasons—the jokes were pretty good and the dialogue was funny and interesting. But I agree that the lives these women now lead are so far removed from real life characters that it’s kind of insulting. How many women (and men) can relate to any of their lives? I get that if you’re in NY for many years, you probably have achieved some wealth and status, but they’re off the charts wealthy. It’s so off-putting.
Finally one silly observation. Has ballet sunk to such a level that only about 10 people attended the concert?
by Anonymous | reply 154 | May 31, 2025 12:34 PM |
R144, yes. Henrietta Hudson and the Cubby Hole to name two.
by Anonymous | reply 156 | May 31, 2025 1:07 PM |
The most realistic thing about the episode was the big theater being near empty for the ballet.

I gave up on this mess halfway thru the first season but my spouse convinced me to watch the season three premiere and I enjoyed it! Granted I was stoned out of my mind, which helped me enjoy the truly awfulness of most of it, but I laughed a lot.
The Rosie/Miranda storyline was fun. Don’t understand the point of the two new main women characters, but whatevs. They didn’t suck —just don’t understand their place in the show other than awkwardly stuffing in some diversity. But the Adian/Carrie storyline. He’s leaving for 5 years?! And they can’t have contact during that time? He moved to Pennsylvania, right? Which borders NY? And they can’t figure out how to visit each other? The phone sex scene was just awful and they should go back to no contact.
I’m sticking with it at least until Patti Lupone shows up.
by Anonymous | reply 158 | May 31, 2025 1:46 PM |
Well actually he’s banished to Virginia, which is farther away and technically the South.
The real issue here is that Aidan was never a good match for Carrie, and either the actor didn’t want to commit to the series or the showrunner decided that settling Carrie down with another Love Of Her Life at this point in the series was a bad idea. So they contrived this ridiculous way to keep them apart.
The end trailer showing snippets from the upcoming season suggests that Carrie at some point takes up with a younger man and that at some point Aidan returns expecting to move in with Carrie and manages to ruffle her feathers when he decides to take over half of her walk-in closet.

Patricia Field doesn’t do the clothes for this so the styling is always slightly off.
by Anonymous | reply 161 | May 31, 2025 2:18 PM |
The styling is horrible, r161. In S&TC, The women were always well dressed according to their characters, with Carrie’s costumes slightly off the charts, but she never wore designer clothes—only designer shoes and purses. It looked like she actually got a lot of her clothes from thrift shops. Miranda wore suits for work but otherwise dressed casually, Samantha wore sexy clothes, but they were also professional as befitting her job. (Seema, as her substitute, also dresses way over the top for her job.) And Charlotte was preppy.

I'm sure she will. It may not be part of the show, but it's very likely, yes.
by Anonymous | reply 165 | May 31, 2025 2:38 PM |
There are some major problems. One: Kristin Davis cannot act. At least, in the original, she was given some juicy storylines and rescued by competent actors like Kyle McLachlan. Now she is playing opposite children and dogs. It is painful.
SJP has aged poorly. Her bizarre wardrobe does not help. Neither does her sad, massive, empty brownstone. She looks like Rapunzel (so said Anthony, accurately!).
Cynthia Nixon can act, but suddenly being a lesbian is the only part of her identity. She's a completely new character from the original. It is unfortunate.
Seema is no Kim Cattrall.
The other family - Nicole Ari Parker and her brood - seem to belong in a different show.
Sigh.

I love Nicole Air Parker but it does feel like they were a great idea to support Charlotte's white cluelessness in one episode back in the so woke we broke it season.
Seema's the character that's failing. She started out as cool and aggressive but she's just a picky old grump. She's single at sixty. What does that tell you?

"Here is my question. What on earth did Big do to leave her all that money? Nobody lives like that."
He was generally understood to be in finance and business - which is incredibly vague. Were supposed to assume that he had some very high level, very lucrative job. Plus, maybe he had family money - though that wasn't really revealed in any way. He would emphasize his work at times like it was really important, he had the big "Paris deal" that fell through. When Carrie couldn't afford the down payment for her apartment, she went to him and said how she had read about how he had turned a modest amount of money into a lot of money. So he was vaguely rich but we never knew the specifics.

I imagine there was also some life insurance that came the way of The Widow Bradshaw.
OMG I don't know why I've only just realised this but if Carrie married Aiden and went double barrelled she would be Carrie Bradshaw-Shaw or would she be Carrie Shaw-Bradshaw? That would be a wedding for Liza to attend.

I just don't know why we can't have Carrie do the voiceover over the entire series like she used to. I thought Exec Producer Michael Patrick King has said they would do that. Additionally, they're defintley trying to "lighten up" the serious with lots of colors. Everyone including the extras are wearing lots of colors.
I'm sorry WHAT kind of stage direction was given to poor Aiden that he had to "LICK" his hand and then put it down his pants while jerking off in the truck. This isn't a porno and it was gross. Oh I could go on and on it's just not the original series and never will be. But I thought it would be a bit more organic from the original to this one.

They really need to 86 the extra dead cast. Give Anthony more airtime. As was mentioned above, the show feels rushed to squeeze in as many people as possible and it doesn’t work. The new characters were introduced in inorganic ways. I don’t connect to them except the Italian because he is linked to Anthony. I feel like they should’ve made one of Charlotte’s kids like able. They need better writers. SJP has to see the need.
by Anonymous | reply 196 | May 31, 2025 8:23 PM |
Yeah, that is the thing r196. It was not a terrible idea to introduce some black characters but it's all so half-assed and not thought out. It just feels like "Carrie's black friend called her today to bitch about some stupid date, but now we can get back to the real characters." And Charlotte's kids are just nothing, I guess just stand ins for "woke" kids these days, but that is also half-assed and no thought behind it.

I hate watched the first two seasons of this mess, but I just can’t do it any more.
The original impulse to end SATC at its peak popularity after six seasons was correct. As an avid fan, I missed the show but was glad they ended it before they could ruin it. But then came those movies and this AJLT dreck.
The first movie was okay — they [italic]absolutely[/italic] should have stopped after that. The second movie was so awful, such a caricature of the show and the characters, that is what killed the franchise’s magic. This AJLT shit is just pissing on its grave.

Carrie mentioned her father basically disappearing (so Daddy issues with Big). Miranda seemed very Main Line Philly---father was dead by the time mother died. There could be, if you were thoughtful, intelligent writers, a whole episode about Carrie's fashion choices. That's funny r229. She seems like she would've been an art history major or something, and at a more traditionalist, less feminist school. Finance just seems wrong (even if it was a major there), too practical, too competitive with men, i.e. future husbands to take care of her.

R243 -- Matthew, is that you?

I really enjoy the ridiculous clothes. I live in a city where everyone just wears bland atheleisure clothes. I wish someone would wear something crazy.

Be the change you want to see r245.

R245 Im in CT and saw an adult man wearing a onesie with a printed bikini clad woman on the front and back (mostly saw the back as they were ahead of me in line). I will concede this was at a dispensary, but it was still an individual working a 'look'.
by Anonymous | reply 247 | June 1, 2025 6:52 PM |
And jusht like that....
by Anonymous | reply 248 | June 1, 2025 6:59 PM |
R244=Poo Shoes, desperately failing to deflect from her idiocy.

Seema is way too needy, and quite exhausting. She does not mesh with anyone on the show. Carrie has nothing in common with her, until she is ready to sell that oversized townhouse.

Just saw this and felt trolled. WTF. Is this from planet musk?

And Just Like That ... i smell a rat.

Rewatching the 2nd season. Hard to believe that Gloria Steinem would agree to appear in an episode with an oversized dick pic.

[quote] Charlotte is from CT and went to Smith College where she majored in finance (which is not a major there).
[quote] That's funny. She seems like she would've been an art history major or something, and at a more traditionalist, less feminist school. Finance just seems wrong (even if it was a major there), too practical, too competitive with men, i.e. future husbands to take care of her.
R229 R230 Charlotte did in fact major in art history and minored in finance. She says so in season 4 episode (7, Time and Punishment) when she's interviewing her gallerina replacement so she can be a stay at home non-mom wife for Trey.
"Majored in art history, minored in finance, same as me!"

Do we think SJP and Nixon realize how cringe this show is? Are they completely delusional? They seem savvy. And yet.
by Anonymous | reply 255 | June 1, 2025 11:28 PM |
They are delusional.
by Anonymous | reply 256 | June 1, 2025 11:33 PM |
Agree with R256. And they think they’re smarter than they are.
by Anonymous | reply 257 | June 2, 2025 12:38 AM |
I’m pretty sure that SJP and Nixon would be aware of the correct use of “cringe”, R255.
by Anonymous | reply 258 | June 2, 2025 12:40 AM |
SJP said in a new interview that she never watches the show and never watched SATC either. Maybe she should?

I think having Carrie harassed by the talking alarm was meant to make the apartment more relatable.
Dumb question which should have been asked 20 years ago: When Miranda married Steve, did Brady become Brady Brady or did he have to stay Brady Hobbs? Was this ever answered?
by Anonymous | reply 260 | June 2, 2025 1:52 AM |
R260 that talking alarm shit is the same tired plot point that happened when she moved into that sun-blasted white loft for two minutes. There was some chime that kept going off that she couldn't figure out.
by Anonymous | reply 261 | June 2, 2025 1:58 AM |
I thought the alarm (with the identifying code "Carrie and Aiden") constantly going off was supposed to be a warning to Carrie about her "relationship" with Aiden. After her attempted phone sex with Aiden flopped, the alarm started blaring, and she turned it off and starting writing again: "The woman wondered what she had gotten herself into."
I can see Carrie agreeing to the five year pause in the moment, but the next day, she should have dropped Aiden. A woman pushing 60, whose husband suddenly dropped dead, should know that waiting five years for someone (with no or limited contact!) is mind-numbingly stupid. And the blank postcards are more pathetic than romantic.
Rock continues to be a little asshole. "BELIEVE WOMEN!" "FAST FASHION!"
The wonderful Cheri Oteri is going to be in an episode this season. She will elevate this crap material just like she did with her MCM guest spot.

I watch because I am playing the game “Identify the NYC location”.
by Anonymous | reply 263 | June 2, 2025 10:48 AM |
What medication is Brady Brady Hobbs taking?
by Anonymous | reply 264 | June 2, 2025 10:53 AM |
The door alarm thing was stupid, especially when the secret password was revealed. I'm sure that even New Yorkers eventually turn off these things unless they're going to out overnight.
