Ok this looks good! It feels like if the Overcompensating characters graduated and now have to be adults. I look forward to starting this one.
I wanted to make a thread about this show, but some eldergay chided me for creating the Overcompensating one already, saying DL was not the target audience for these, despite the gay characters in it. And so I didn't!
Having said that, I will give this one a go. I hope I can relate to Zoomer stuff, though.

They're calling this the "Gen Z FRIENDS" but it's really more like a reboot of HAPPY ENDINGS with twentysomethings instead of thirtysomethings. Lots of snappy dialogue, outrageous situations, some near-surrealistic moments. I did laugh when they got jealous that a friend went viral for being sexually assaulted at work.
The two female leads are both good at this stuff, and one of them is very "young Lecy Goranson."

One of the actors in it is also in Overcompensating.

I don't think I would be able to watch that show because I'd keep punching my screen every time one of them spoke.

I really want to like this but that trailer just screams "trying way too hard"

maaaaybbbeee. I know my husband wouldn't watch it with me so I'll have to check it out on my own. I did like Overcompensating.

Would it have killed them to give us some eye candy?

I saw the trailer and knew I would hate it. It looks like a bunch of lazy cliches about young people written by someone older. 2025's Reality Bites.

The reviews are terrible.

Some of it is funny. Some of it is way too try-hard and ridiculous. But the main problem is the Gen Z of it all. Not that it’s about young people in general, but rather about this particular generation of young people. I’m not convinced even Gen Zers want to watch their own generation portrayed on TV.
