Then Carol Was Deported

[quote] “I voted for Donald Trump, and so did practically everyone here,” said Vanessa Cowart, a friend of Ms. Hui from church. “But no one voted to deport moms. We were all under the impression we were just getting rid of the gangs, the people who came here in droves.”

Hey, if Carol broke the law by overstaying her visa then she's here illegally. Tough story because I truly feel sorry for her. It's astounding how they think "moms" (ugh) are above the law or deserve special consideration. I love the droves comment, too; gee, I wonder who she's talking about. I hate to play the FAFO card, but these voters went gunning for their friend and fellow churchgoer Carol when they voted for Trump.

Carol? I thought ICE was more focused on the Alices of the world.

by Anonymousreply 1May 29, 2025 1:13 AM

Yummm! Tasty face. But we're already hungry again. Good thing there are plenty more where that come from.

by Anonymousreply 2May 29, 2025 1:15 AM

How about Yolanda in custodial services? How does she feel. It's really important so please get back to us. You're an angel poster.

by Anonymousreply 3May 29, 2025 1:15 AM

The article said Carol lived in an area that voted 80-20 for Dump and had been converted to a local Catholic church.

The odds are not zero that Carol, like her friends, was a Dump supporter.

And, once again, like the dumb Dane from Mississippi, the deportees' reproductive status is invoked in hopes of getting sympathetic violins.

by Anonymousreply 4May 29, 2025 1:33 AM

R4 - and the odds are 100% that a Trump supporter she knew blew her cover. I'm thinking it was that male Trump supporter quoted in the article.

One of her 'friends' was behind this.

by Anonymousreply 5May 29, 2025 1:36 AM

Was she deported to a death camp in El Salvador or Sudan? No? Then consider her lucky.

by Anonymousreply 6May 29, 2025 1:39 AM

"when Carol didn’t show up for her shift at John’s Waffle and Pancake House" - one of those bitches in a t-shirt did it.

John (of John's Waffle and Pancake House fame) let it out of the bag that she was an illegal and one of them wanted her shifts or was pissed off at her for some reason. Or someone in HR who did payroll let it loose.

She had to have been paid under the table right? Because she couldn't legally be working.

Why isn't JOHN arrested for hiring an illegal?

by Anonymousreply 7May 29, 2025 1:42 AM

Womp fucking womp.

You dumb cunts should maybe “do your own research” when it comes to lying, convicted criminals running for President. Or any office.

But you chose to believe Fux and the bullshit. Too bad, so sad for you.

by Anonymousreply 8May 29, 2025 1:46 AM

R8 - give it 2 months - they won't remember Carol at all.

by Anonymousreply 9May 29, 2025 1:49 AM

Dumb fuks.

by Anonymousreply 10May 29, 2025 1:54 AM

[quote] “They vote for Trump, and then they get mad because the stuff starts happening,” he said of his neighbors. “We’ve got to get rid of all the illegals. This is just a start.”

It's almost like saying in another era, "We've got to get rid of all the Jews. This is just a start."

by Anonymousreply 11May 29, 2025 1:54 AM

R11 No it's. Shame on you.

Try overstaying your visa or entering a country illegally in most other countries in the world.

by Anonymousreply 12May 29, 2025 1:57 AM

Leopard. Face.

Enough said.

by Anonymousreply 13May 29, 2025 2:06 AM

R12 - it's the 'this is just a start' that is the worrisome part. They want a LOT more than this - illegals are just the start.

by Anonymousreply 14May 29, 2025 2:07 AM

I'm sorry, they lost me at "Waffle House."

(...and waitress)

by Anonymousreply 15May 29, 2025 2:08 AM

At R12 Should read: "No it's not".

by Anonymousreply 16May 29, 2025 2:11 AM

I want to know that, too, R7.

by Anonymousreply 17May 29, 2025 2:15 AM

R17 - outside of the obvious - that Republicans want the cheap labor and won't prosecute the business owners - I would have to think it would be difficult to prove with no paperwork.

He could claim he just paid her to clean and she owned a cleaning service.

Trump voters heard what they wanted to hear. He made no mystery of the fact that anyone undocumented was fair game once he took office.

by Anonymousreply 20May 29, 2025 2:32 AM

R12, most Germans in the early 30s thought the Hitler regime would strip German Jews of their civil rights or expel them from Germany. But I get your point, and you are correct. This is not the gas chamber or the crematorium. Still, that's how it began. So, I am sensitive to the language of dehumanization. And today, that is the language that is used. To that Dangerous Idiot, Carol is "an animal." That is how he refers to people like her.

Maybe I should draw another analogy. Look at how Putin's regime targeted the LGBT community there and this regime targets people who come here extralegally.

by Anonymousreply 21May 29, 2025 2:41 AM

I bet it was her friend Julie that tattled to ICE. Julie is such a bitch.

by Anonymousreply 22May 29, 2025 3:00 AM

No, she was in the system. After overstaying, paying $2000 for a fake marriage and then being denied asylum, she had some kind of temporary supervised permission. Which Trump has basically cancelled. But being deported back to Hong Kong isn’t so bad. .

by Anonymousreply 23May 29, 2025 1:23 PM

bUT nOoNe vOTeD tO dePOrT mOmS!

by Anonymousreply 24May 29, 2025 2:19 PM

[quote] But I get your point, and you are correct. This is not the gas chamber or the crematorium.

No, BCP, you were correct initially. This is exactly how it started in Germany; they didn't set up the crematoriums for years (and the ovens don't build themselves).

And let's be blunt: ask the men being tortured in El Salvador if they'd rather live or die. Well, ask the ones still alive.

by Anonymousreply 25May 29, 2025 3:29 PM

I doubt someone else turned her in. She had been in the country for 20+ years and had never bothered to straighten out her immigration status, let alone become a citizen. She just got one temporary order of supervision after another. That was probably a red flag in the ICE computers.

by Anonymousreply 26May 29, 2025 3:51 PM

This is exactly what Trump supporters voted for. They did not vote for a careful, nuanced approach (aka the system as it existed until January 20th); they voted for using a sledgehammer where a ball pein was warranted.

Our immigration system has never been perfect, but it speaks to America's supposed Christian values that this is the way that we've chosen to deal with this issue. There are so many ways to deal with immigration that would eliminate the problem. For example, holding the people who illegally employ them to account. We could have an immigration system that tracked foreigners entering and leaving the country, which would spit out lists of people here without proper clearance to find, prosecute and remove - and we could require that immigrants pay for it via entry fees. We could have passed the bipartisan immigration bill that Trump killed prior to the election, which would have strengthened border security, required and facilitated every truck entering the country going through a scanner to ensure that no drugs or humans were inside, and work with foreign governments to prevent the issue before the immigrants fled because the cheapest and most effective method of prevention is prophylactic -- to name just a few methods we've discarded in favor or treating humans worse than animals.

by Anonymousreply 27May 29, 2025 3:55 PM

Sorry, but illegal immigrants are not comparable to Jews. Jews were not living in Europe illegally and therefore were entitled to citizenship. They were also entitled to live and not be murdered.

It's amazing that 40 years ago in the US, immigration control would scan the agricultural fields of California to catch any illegals running and no one in their right mind would compare it to Hitler's regime.

You can be liberal and a democrat and stop with the bleeding heart hyperbole.

by Anonymousreply 28May 29, 2025 4:49 PM

No posting history, r28?

by Anonymousreply 29May 29, 2025 5:27 PM

R22 Sorry to inform you, but my friend Julie is a cunt. SUCH a cunt.

by Anonymousreply 30May 29, 2025 5:33 PM

What R29? Ive been posting here for years. You can only view someone's history if they post in the same thread as you, genius.

by Anonymousreply 31May 29, 2025 5:38 PM

[quote]40 years ago in the US, immigration control would scan the agricultural fields of California to catch any illegals running

...and then they would be processed in due course (note the use of the word 'due' here), given an opportunity to appeal, and were not disappeared to some third-world torture chamber in the dark of night by men too afraid to show their faces.

Let me be clear: What we are doing to undocumented immigrants now is more akin to what Hitler did to the Jews than what we did to immigrants 40 years ago. It's not even close. And shame on you for conflating the two, R28.

by Anonymousreply 32May 29, 2025 5:52 PM

R32 your comments don't make sense. R28 is decoupling the persecution of Jewish people from current immigration activities. You appear to be the one conflating.

by Anonymousreply 33May 29, 2025 6:02 PM

Trump is doing exactly what I thought he would do: he's weaponized ICE so that they only go after illegal immigrants whose employers have NOT paid ransom money to Trump.

Trump hasn't got the balls to go after the big prizes in illegal immigrants: chicken processing plants in Arkansas, meat packers in the Midwest, agricultural workers in Florida and California's Central Valley, and construction workers in Texas and Florida. He won't dare go after these workers because if he did, he know it would cause economic chaos and food chain supply issues.

Trump may target a few unlucky individuals for deportation, but 98% of illegal immigrants in the U.S. have absolutely nothing to worry about.

by Anonymousreply 34May 29, 2025 6:09 PM

A troll is claiming that she has no posting history because, she says, you cannot see a posting history unless you post in the same thread. This is untrue. You can see anybody's posting history by blocking them and looking at the Ignored list, whether or not you post in the same thread.

I looked at the troll's posting history both before and after posting to this thread, and it is the same. The troll has been creating lots of sockpuppet accounts in order to troll without getting FFed outta here. If she only posts a few times per account, it's unlikely she'll win enough razzberrys to get her account deleted.

by Anonymousreply 35May 29, 2025 6:11 PM

I saw the thread title and assumed this thread was going to be about either Burnett or Channing.

by Anonymousreply 36May 29, 2025 6:15 PM

R35 you are an idiot. You cannot see anyone's posts if they do not post in the same threads as you.

by Anonymousreply 37May 29, 2025 6:24 PM

Nice try, R37, Poo Shoes. Your reply got added to your other blocked comments in this thread. You are churning accounts to avoid being canceled. Why Muriel doesn't have a problem with this sort of site manipulation is beyond me - it goes far beyond the norm. I just blocked another of your sockpuppets where you used a racial slur to describe Secret Service agents. And that was the only comment you made using that account. I've blocked many of your other accounts - over 200 at the moment - and many of those have dozens of posts each; but lately you are only posting a few racist comments per sockpuppet account.

The article says she picked the name Carol when she was a kid growing up in Hong Kong, where lots of people have Western names. (Though even so, Carol seems like a weird choice since Hong Kongers usually go for very British names.)

I’m glad that Sheryl Crow was able to escape Kennett, MO.

by Anonymousreply 55May 30, 2025 2:12 PM

Carol drove 3 hours to court after receiving a summons by post. She’s one of the ones who gets called to court, the government dismisses their case so they have no legal status or grounds for appeal, they walk out of the courtroom and the ICE agents grab them. It’s happening to 100s of people a day now.

If they don’t obey the summons, they jeopardise their legal status.

If they show up, their case is dismissed and they get abducted by ICE.

And the Trump administration is still deporting far fewer people than Biden and Obama.

It’s what you would expect of such lazy, unskilled people. They can’t be bothered to do the work of actually investigating and finding dangerous, undocumented criminals so they just pick the low hanging fruit and act like it’s the same thing. Now they’re just expanding the definition of illegals by revoking the legal status of all the brown people. These people were all here legally until the Trump administration changed the rules. It’s not immigration control, it’s more like a genocide: rid the country of brown people.

If it was 100 years ago, it could be happening to the Irish and the Italians.

by Anonymousreply 56May 30, 2025 5:52 PM

R56 So very well put.

by Anonymousreply 57May 30, 2025 7:28 PM

These stories are very satisfying in a “ha ha I told you so” kind of way, but I think we have to admit that 90% of Plump voters don’t know anyone who’s about to be, or has been, seized by the goon squad.

Plump is very unpopular for a pres six months into his term, but one thing Americans DO give him high marks on is his immigration policy.

How do we make them realise it’s cruel and bad for the economy? I’m not sure tbh.

by Anonymousreply 61May 30, 2025 10:43 PM

R65, there are an estimated 900,000 illegal immigrants in Florida. The 100 arrested in your post represent about 1/10th of 1% of the total.

Wake me when ICE starts going after the really big fish: residential and commercial construction sites In Dade/Broward/Palm Beach counties in the state and agricultural areas in and around Lake Okeechobee.

When they arrest all of the illegals the DeSantis clan employs, give us a shout out.

by Anonymousreply 66May 31, 2025 5:06 PM

R66 - Are telling me it won't keep happening or that one raid reported by a newspaper is the only one happening or is just ICE PR. and doesn't represent state-wide activity? Or that the construction and ag economy won't be hurt when workers don't show up for fear of detention?
