What was your opinion of Michael Jackson’s “Dangerous” album?
As a child I thought it was cool because of all the hype, but in hindsight, it was subpar compared to his earlier albums and it was also way too long and monotonous. It was also clear by that time that his ego was out of control as every music video from that album was 10 minutes long and filled up with monotonous and gratuitous dance moves.
Having said that, Jam and Dangerous were well produced, although 77 minutes is way too long for an album that isn’t a compilation.

Remember the Time, Will You Be There?, and Who Is It? were the standout tracks on the album. Black and White was so overplayed on radio, MTV, VH1, BET, that I can’t stand to listen to it.
It never felt like a cohesive album like Off the Wall and Thriller. And without any Rod Temperton penned songs and Quincy Jones production, it felt like a Whitney Houston album: overproduced with only a few songs that stood out while the rest were fillers.

Oh, I forgot, In the Closet was a great song. Too bad he and Madonna couldn’t come to an agreement and duet on it. That would’ve been explosive.

I think I read somewhere that Black Or White was actually a throwaway track from the Bad album sessions.
