Kim Kardashian Earns Her Law Degree
The reality TV star has completed over 5,000 hours of study under a legal apprenticeship program in California. If she passes the Bar exam, she can become a practicing lawyer like her own late father
Would you be willing to let Kim Kardashian fight to get you out of jail? Or handle your divorce settlement? What if she had to go to the police station in the middle of the night to get you released on a minor charge? While the question may sound disconcerting, it’s not far from the truth. Kardashian, 44, has officially graduated in law after six years of study under a legal apprenticeship program with a law firm in California. If she passes the Bar examination, she will officially be able to practice law in that state.
Known as a businesswoman but above all as a reality TV star thanks to the family show that bears her name, and as a pioneer of exposing the miseries and grandeurs of the rich and famous, Kardashian shared news of her achievement through her family’s social media channels. And of course, she did it in a peculiar way: by showing scenes from her unusual graduation ceremony, where she was alone with just a couple of classmates in the backyard of her house. It was her younger sister, Khloé, who uploaded half a dozen videos on her Instagram account where Kim is seen listening to speeches from some of her mentors and putting on her graduation cap. “I am so proud of Kim,” Khloé said later in a video. “I am so proud of Kim. I just left her celebration lunch for graduating from law school. I mean, I cannot believe this is years and years in the making.”
Two of her mentors present at the private ceremony said that Kardashian’s journey has been one of the most inspiring ever. “Six years ago, Kim Kardashian walked into this program with nothing but a fierce desire to fight for justice. No law school lectures, no ivory tower shortcuts, just determination,” said one. “During this program, Kim has dedicated 18 hours a week, 48 weeks a year for six straight years. That’s 5,148 hours of legal study. That’s time she carved out while raising four children, running businesses, filming television shows and showing up in courtrooms to advocate for others.” And then Khloé spoke: “And still fabulous.”

She still has to pass the bar exam. Sitting in a law office for six years probably did not prepare her for that.

Kim Kardashian is many things, but stupid is not one of them. I'm not a fan and I'm not saying this with admiration, but clearly she has some intelligence. She makes poor choices in her personal life (Kanye), but so do many other otherwise intelligent people who excel professionally. She's already made a huge money-making career out of ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. With a law degree? She'll be fine. Probably not a great legal mind but a competent and compelling communicator.

It sounds like it would have been easier to just go to law school. But, if done correctly, on the job learning is a better way to learn law.
The entire first year of law school is supposedly designed to teach you to “think like a lawyer.” That could be taught in a six-week course. You don’t learn that much substantive law the first year. Maybe some general concepts. Again, it could be a six-week course.
Training should also focus much more on research skills.

She didn't go to law school because 1) she didn't go to or graduate from college and 2) I doubt she would have had high enough numbers to get acceptance into a decent law school.
Some of you who think she's smart because she's put her tits and as on display and did shocking pictures are really mistaken. It's the dumbing down of America. They just happened to be at the right place at the right time with so many different scandals and things happening in her extended family.
I don't believe for a second she will pass the bar or work as an attorney or that she even completed this. This is just a PR part to say - look, see? I'm not 100% vapid - I work to try to release wrongly convicted people. Oh - and let's break the internet with this pic of my tittays and champagne!
Some of you will believe anything.

I support the existence of legal apprenticeship as an option instead of law school, but anyone who thinks she actually did the hard work that's supposed to involve is a fool. I don't know if things have changed, but California used to have one of the most difficult bar exams in the country. I don't see her legitimately passing it.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | May 22, 2025 5:40 PM

The most difficult.
Recently, however, it’s gone through great change in length and content, and the cut score has changed. Who knows? IMHO: Like anyone else, she will need to block off several weeks and commit to a bar prep/review course, or she has no chance. I’m not sure at all she can commit to that…

Also:

She's never going to be a courtroom lawyer arguing cases, because as OP alludes, who would hire her? Even her biggest fans would still be dependent on a jury, and a jury of all Kim K. fans is unlikely. She would be a distraction in the courtroom. She's not dumb, she knows that.
But she's a natural as a "public face" role for an advocacy group, and you don't need to pass the bar for that. I could see her as a Gloria Allred type holding press conferences and giving interviews about high profile cases and hot button legal issues.
Kim is very popular among some circles, including young women and people of color. She has real admirers. She's not a complete joke.

The entire Kardashian so-called “reality” empire, built by Kris Jenner, is on the blood of Nicole Brown. We should never let these assholes forget that they traded on their friendship with a murder victim for money and fame.

Kim Kardashian is by all accounts a kind, professional, and polite person. There's never been a single report from a waiter, makeup artist, PA, etc of bad behavior. And despite her arguably making her fortune on frivolity and various and sundry Bimbo pursuits, she's actually used her influence for good in pretty impressive ways. She's freed innocent people from prison. How many of us can say that? If she continues to make progress in prison reform, then she's a force for good in the world. Say what you want about her, but attaining a law degree in one's 40's as a single mother with multiple full-time jobs/businesses and no formal college education is an impressive feat, and she should be proud of herself for that. She had no reason to ever need to rely on intellect and hard work in order to be successful in life, but she still chose to pursue knowledge, and that is commendable in this day and age.

[quote]Just to keep everyone up to speed - [R55] thinks the high-school dropout Kylie Jenner created a make-up line and company all on her own and is worth a billion dollars.
That is, of course, not what I said. What I said was, (1) Kylie Jenner's company was targeted for acquisition by another company, and (2) at the time of the acquisition, the acquiring company paid $600 million dollars for a 51% stake. Since it is commonly accepted practice the world over that (3) the remaining 49% of that company would be valued at the price that the acquirer paid for its share, basic arithmetic reveals that (4) Kylie's remaining 49% would have been valued at $576 million. Since it is a fact that (5) Kylie Jenner was the sole owner of her company at the time it was sold, that means that (6) Kylie Jenner was, at the time her company was acquired, a billionaire.
Because $576 million plus $600 million equals $1.176 billion ... dummy.
Nothing that I said is in dispute, which is why the only thing that you can do is prevaricate and dissemble. The fact that you, at damn near 70 years old, don't have anything better to do with your time is unusually pathetic.
Seek help and/or companionship. It's not too late for you.
