JD Vance says Supreme Court should be deferential to the President
JD Vance called Chief Justice John Roberts’ comments earlier this month that the judiciary’s role is to check the executive branch a “profoundly wrong sentiment” and said the courts should be “deferential” to the president, particularly when it comes to immigration.
“I thought that was a profoundly wrong sentiment. That’s one half of his job, the other half of his job is to check the excesses of his own branch. And you cannot have a country where the American people keep on electing immigration enforcement and the courts tell the American people they’re not allowed to have what they voted for,” Vance told New York Times opinion columnist Ross Douthat.

Everyone associated with this administration from the VP to the cabin secretaries to the other appointees and aides is a lickspittle...nothing more. We no longer have an elected POTUS held by checks and balances and responsible to the public (let alone Congress). We have a authoritarian leader with toadies to do his bidding.
Vance is educated. He has no shame. Every utterance from him and any action by him is to curry and to keep favor with that Dangerous Idiot.

Jaydine is just biding his time for the next four years.
He is assuming that Trump cannot run for President in 2028, which would make him the "presumptive" Republican nominee.
Key word being PRESUMPTIVE.
Little does he know that Trump has no intention of stepping down.
And MAGA world has no intention of voting for him in 2028.

Just saw this in the NYT. I don't have the patience to listen to/read it, but perhaps someone here will find it interesting, amusing, or entertaining.
Have fun!

The job of the Supreme Court is to interpret the constitution. Period.

[quote] JD Vance says Supreme Court should be deferential to the President
There's this little thing that the "founding fathers" of the United States set up, called "checks and balances."
They set up three branches of government - The Presidency, Congress, and the Supreme Court - specifically so that there would be a separation of power, as well as checks and balances, so that no one person or branch of government could hold too much power in our government.
Jaydine knows this, but he is just kissing Trump's hole, trying to stay on his good side.
Just wait until Trump sics his MAGA January 6 DOGS on JD Vance, with their mobs and their nooses.
He thinks he's safe. So did Mike Pence. Both of them were wrong.
