I saw Stranger by the Lake, which everyone here hated. A bunch of his movies are on Criterion Channel right now. Is his other stuff worth it?

I liked Stranger by the Lake!
But I'm a lesbian, so I guess that doesn't count.

I would have like it more if the guys had some bush. Everything was all plucked chicken.

Well, I watched all six movies that are featured on Criterion this month. Multiple movies involved sex with shepherds, and one has an assisted suicide anal scene that lasts for about five minutes.

MISERICORDIA, his latest. There is dong, in various states of tumescence and in surprising (even shocking) situations.. It's worth a watch. 30 something man (average looking) from the city returns to his rural village, and many bad things happen. (I won't disclose any more).

Just a note that Stranger by the Lake is also currently streaming on Kanopy. Kanopy is a free service you can access via most public library cards.

I really enjoyed Misericordia. It leaves a lot of loose ends unanswered but it's all the better for it.

And, in Misericordia, the butch character with the cleft lip is strangely hot. The homoerotic tension between him and the main protagonist was palpable.

Misericordia was a good one. It is on Criterion too. His movies are surprising if you have only seen SbtL. That one has a lot of his characteristic tics, but it’s not so much like the others.

I also liked Misericordia, though can't say I understood why things happened the way they did. And I wish the bakery had gotten going again ..
