Hi folks -Late to the party, as usual. A friend gave me the series today, and I just finished episode five. Gotta say, it's a hell of a lot better than the clips they showed when the cast was out promoting the show prior to the premiere!

Is there going to be a second season?

Cynthia Erivo is so good in this! She’s never been better.

Will Christian Bale show up?

If this show were on CBS, it would be an even bigger hit. People love Matlock with Kathy Bates and that’s really old school too.

Apparently, it wasn’t picked up for season 2.

That's a bummer. Despite my initial resistance, I was starting to grow quite fond of it.

I think Hulu is waiting until after the Emmy nominations to announce a renewal. There’s a possibility still that Lavin will be nominated for Supporting Comedy Actress and they could announce it off the back of that.

I still find it hard to believe that the likes of Ryan Murphy, Mutchnick & Cohen, and James Burrows, among many others, couldn’t get a 10-episode 2nd season renewal from Hulu. Despite all the Golden Girls lovin’/MCM haterz around here, the show is popular and well-received.

I think they’re waiting to announce something off the back of the Emmy nominations.

When they pitched season 2 to Hulu, they should've told them they were going to add Cheri Oteri as a regular.

Cheri has been popping up a lot lately. It’s great to see her!

Who was that actress who had her shows cancelled left and right (through no fault of her own) back in the 90s? Alison La Placa!

What about adding Kevin Spacey as the new roommate to replace Lavin?

They should have Cheri pull double duty and guest star as the “Simma Down Now!” lady.

I wonder if there’s something behind the scenes we don’t know, like a member of the main trio who didn’t want to return for another season.

The laugh track is annoying. I wish they had filmed it in front of an audience like the Golden Girls.

Is it going to be renewed? It’s more Golden Palace than Golden Girls territory.

I’ll bet they renew it if Linda gets an Emmy nom.
