I think the NYT was hyping this recently

I saw some at my local market just today - is it good? I assume it’s made by slaves?

It's very popular in Houston. I thought it was made by slaves in Dubai, too, but it seems to be made here.

I think it lives up to the hype. Was skeptical also but it's really good. If you love pistachio, you'll definitely love it,

Tried some in Dubai. It's weird. The filling is kind of like shredded pistachio with an almost hay-like texture. Didn't like it.

Child labor and slavery is notoriously commonplace in the cacao growing industry. Cacao is where chocolate comes from.

Does white chocolate use white slavery or white slavers ?

Pistachios are a delicacy in the M.E. on cakes chocolate, everything sweet

Hazelnuts would be good as well.

Someone sent it to me as a gift. Didn’t care for unique taste and textures so it was only so-so for me (though still nice gift though)

It's delicious but fucking expensive. At my local Shop-Rite, it's $11.99 for a bar.

I like it but it's very rich.

$11.99? Forget it. Above a certain threshold I'd prefer to go all-in at a local chocolatier where it's all homemade.

The bar I got was $25. It's good, but not THAT good.

I enjoyed Dubai chocolate with a café au lait at the Louis Vuitton Café – Atlantis The Royal, Dubai. It cost 1,200 dirhams AED, or 320 USD.

It looks like chocolate covered halavah.

It's just regular chocolate (milk or dark) filled with a mixture of:

Pistachio cream – a smooth, nutty filling that’s bright green and

Knafeh -- hard to explain, it's kind of like shredded phyllo dough that's toasted and gives it a crunchy texture.

Tahini.

It's good but I don't see why people are losing their minds over it. Really depends on the quality of the chocolate.

There is some great Dubai chocolate at this place in Chicago.
