Five prescriptions, totaling 8 pills. Four supplements, making a total of 12 pills a day. Then add two daily injections and one weekly injection.

It's fucking depressing...

by Anonymousreply 20May 18, 2025 4:30 AM

Only 7 Rx. 4 psyche.

by Anonymousreply 21May 18, 2025 4:31 AM

What does collagen powder do?

by Anonymousreply 22May 18, 2025 4:31 AM

R22, you can mix it in your drinks, it is supposed to be good for your skin and joints

by Anonymousreply 23May 18, 2025 4:33 AM

R19 Ho I didn’t make this thread. You see you bring heat and then play dumb. You nasty gutter cunt.

by Anonymousreply 24May 18, 2025 4:46 AM

Someone's been taking my lorazepam!

by Anonymousreply 25May 18, 2025 5:22 AM

Nothing, and I want to keep it that way as long as possible. I ocassionally use a sleeping pill when I need to resync my body clock after shift work

by Anonymousreply 26May 18, 2025 8:25 AM

4 prescriptions right now, hopefully to be reduced soon. All of these medications started after a major heart scare and 9 day hospital stay. Doctors say a respiratory virus I contracted attacked my heart and reduced it to 33% of normal capacity. I had a double heart catheterization last week and the doctors say my heart was in great shape before the attack and is on the way back to 100% soon (if not already). I have an echocardiogram scheduled on Monday and an appointment with one of my heart doctors who will hopefully tell me my heart is doing great, and they'll will let me remove this horrible portable heart defibrillator I've had to wear since leaving hospital. The power pack is as heavy as a brick.

Spironolactone 25mg (1 per day)

Lisinopril 5mg (1 per day)

Furosemide (Lasix) originally 2 40mg tablets daily, now reduced to 2 20mg pills a day

Carvedilol 6.25 mg (twice daily)

by Anonymousreply 27May 18, 2025 9:41 AM

How many recreational pills do you take in a day?

by Anonymousreply 28May 18, 2025 9:46 AM

Normally 0 but I've had a phlegmy cough I can't shift for the last month so am pretty much a walking dispensary right now

by Anonymousreply 29May 18, 2025 10:01 AM

Blood pressure, cholesterol, calcium, and phosphorus for when I need to GLOW.

by Anonymousreply 30May 18, 2025 10:41 AM

Not enough.

by Anonymousreply 31May 18, 2025 10:46 AM

Four today. Some antihistamines. A Bp med, and a stomach acid med

by Anonymousreply 33May 18, 2025 12:08 PM

Daily: 14 Rx tablets (12 meds, 2 of ‘em twice a day) 3 supplements, a multi-vitamin, and baby aspirin.

Weekly, monthly, and bi-monthly injectable Rx meds. I gave myself 5 shots this past week.

by Anonymousreply 34May 18, 2025 12:22 PM

More than I can count.

by Anonymousreply 35May 18, 2025 12:22 PM

None and I'm old.

by Anonymousreply 36May 18, 2025 12:23 PM

by Anonymousreply 40May 18, 2025 1:12 PM

[quote] and 1 pill makes you small

Oh look. Another Ozempic thread.

by Anonymousreply 41May 18, 2025 1:19 PM

if i have a headache, I take 3 advils

by Anonymousreply 42May 18, 2025 1:29 PM

"My mother takes 28 a day. 25 Rx, a baby aspirin, and two supplements (cranberry and Neuriva)."

28! That's a lot. I have a friend in geriatric medicine nursing who has talked about this.. some of her patients are so swamped in meds, and it becomes difficult to manage all the potential negative interactions or to know which one or which particular combo might be causing a bad side effect.

by Anonymousreply 43May 18, 2025 1:45 PM

Vitamin D3, that's it so far. 71 years old.

by Anonymousreply 44May 18, 2025 2:20 PM

I dream of a pill minder. They require good insurance. So far, I don’t take any pills.

by Anonymousreply 45May 18, 2025 2:48 PM

None. Zero. Not even vitamins.

by Anonymousreply 46May 18, 2025 2:55 PM

3 (age 65)

by Anonymousreply 47May 18, 2025 3:41 PM

4 prescribed, 2 supplements.

by Anonymousreply 48May 18, 2025 3:56 PM

Vitamin D

I haven't taken anything on a daily basis in decades.

by Anonymousreply 49May 18, 2025 3:59 PM

5 prescribed medications daily, two prescribed supplements.

by Anonymousreply 50May 18, 2025 4:02 PM

Of course I take dolls! How else do you expect me to get up at 5am and "SPARKLE, Neely, SPARKLE!"?

by Anonymousreply 51May 18, 2025 4:50 PM

Keep those fresh jokes coming R51.

by Anonymousreply 52May 18, 2025 4:53 PM

1 x prep and some days an acid pill that’s it. Surprised nobody else has mentioned prep yet?

by Anonymousreply 53May 18, 2025 4:54 PM

Magnesium: For a while, it did wonders for my mood. Unfortunately, that pretty much went away, but it's also known to increase HDL levels, and my HDL levels are indeed higher.

Omega-3s: Just had a good blood pressure reading after taking them for some time, but who's to say?

Also, Vitamin D and a multivitamin.

by Anonymousreply 54May 18, 2025 6:22 PM

3 RXs

Mega Red

Allegra

Vitamin D3

Baby Aspirin

5 Metamucil Capsules

by Anonymousreply 55May 18, 2025 9:30 PM

Aren't you folks concerned about pill A interacting with pill B? I know the FDA does a lot of testing, but still. Oh, and I bet DOGE is gutting much of the $$$ for the testing now.

by Anonymousreply 56May 18, 2025 11:17 PM

Four multivitamin gummies in the morning and fiber capsules with meals.

by Anonymousreply 57May 18, 2025 11:27 PM

Ten Rx medications, some more than once a day. One multivitamin. Two Rx injections a week. 24 tablets/capsules per day.

by Anonymousreply 58May 18, 2025 11:33 PM

Ok I'm not proud of this but over 40 I bet. Maybe closer to 50? A few medications for hair and skin (finasteride, minoxidil, low dose accutane), and dementia prophylaxis (cialis of all things), but mostly it's just my supplement based healthy aging regime. It's getting to be a hassle and I'm going triage the list soon I think. Also there's the expense

by Anonymousreply 59May 18, 2025 11:35 PM

[quote]Aren't you folks concerned about pill A interacting with pill B?

That's why your doctor(s) always want you to list what medications you're on. If your doctor doesn't catch something, your pharmacy will.

by Anonymousreply 60May 18, 2025 11:38 PM

17 vitamins and supplements: 2 multigummies, 6 collagen, 3 calciums, 1 magnesium, 1 zinc, 1 vitamin a, 1 metoprolol, 1 tamsulosin

by Anonymousreply 61May 18, 2025 11:38 PM

Oh, and my 1 finasteride. That's the 17 total.

by Anonymousreply 62May 18, 2025 11:43 PM

I think it's about 10, roughly half in the morning, half at night. Prozac, baby aspirin. A statin, an antihistamine. 2 BP meds, as many lorazepam as are needed (up to three) Biotin (for hair loss after chemo), coq10, anti stomach acid stuff (the name escapes me), medical stuff is so dull I'm nodding off just typing this : All these pills and nothing fun.

by Anonymousreply 63May 19, 2025 2:47 AM

Atorvastatin that keeps me alive. Metoprolol, for the ticker too. And a baby aspirin chaser!

Calcium

Vit C

Turmeric - I heard it's an anti-inflammatory.

OsteoBiFlex for the joints.

Gingko (special kind from New Zealand) which they claim is helpful for the tinnitus, but I am not sure about that... Buzzz!!!

Nexium

Allegra (May/June & Sept/October)

Ambien

by Anonymousreply 64May 19, 2025 2:55 AM

no one is taking prep?

by Anonymousreply 65May 19, 2025 3:09 AM

Pills?

by Anonymousreply 66May 19, 2025 3:31 AM

1.5 zolofts

1.5 melatonins

1 progesterone

collagen if I make a smoothie

sometimes an advil

1 estrogen patch every 4 days

by Anonymousreply 67May 19, 2025 3:59 AM

About 7 prescriptions and about 7 supplements a day. Age-related stuff basically - because who knew that hearts and kidneys don't last forever?

by Anonymousreply 68May 19, 2025 4:10 AM

Vitamin D, magnesium, melatonin, sometimes Omega 3 and iron every other day.

by Anonymousreply 69May 19, 2025 6:32 AM

I'm surprised by all the low-dose aspirin. I thought there was a big shift away from it (not in every case but in most.)

It's not available over the counter in most of Europe and seemingly seldom prescribed by physicians.

by Anonymousreply 70May 19, 2025 7:23 AM

Believe it or not, my 102 year old mother is on no medications. Never has been.

by Anonymousreply 71May 19, 2025 10:24 AM

I just started taking supplements. Vitamin D, multi-vitamin, and magnesium. I also take collagen-- but that is a powder not a pill.

by Anonymousreply 72May 19, 2025 2:09 PM

50 years old and I take none. Should I?

by Anonymousreply 73May 19, 2025 2:41 PM

Vitamin D because I had rickets! Fish oil Collagen powder in my coffee 2 Rx—one of which is a sleep aid because I wake up if a neighbor 6 blocks over coughs in his basement.

by Anonymousreply 74May 19, 2025 4:12 PM

[quote]Believe it or not, my 102 year old mother is on no medications.

I believe you.

[quote]50 years old and I take none. Should I?

If you've reached 50 without any trouble or needing RX or supplements, that's great. Keep up the good work, that is, unless you've never gotten a checkup.

by Anonymousreply 75May 19, 2025 4:52 PM

r73 Almost everyone is deficient in vitamin D, it wouldn't hurt if you got it.

by Anonymousreply 76May 19, 2025 8:14 PM

8 vitamins/supplements and one rx pill, usually. Right now my Rx pills are up to 3/day on top of the 8, but I just had oral surgery.

by Anonymousreply 77May 19, 2025 8:21 PM

10 total = 3 prescription / 7 vitamins/supplements

by Anonymousreply 78May 19, 2025 8:27 PM

Prescriptions:

Atorvastatin 20mg

Escitalopram 10mg

Finasteride 5mg

Vitamins / Supplements:

Glucosamine HCI with MSM

Calcium Citrate Magnesium and Zinc

Super B-Complex

Fish Oil

Zinc

Supper Vitamin C with Vitamin D3

Collagen Peptide Advanced with Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin C

by Anonymousreply 79May 19, 2025 8:36 PM

They added 2 more today.

MethyLPREDNISolone (a steroid) 6 day course

Azithromycin (antibiotic) 5 day course

by Anonymousreply 80May 19, 2025 9:27 PM

How many drugs? Just enough to keep the mirrors from cracking.

The five beauty scripts battle Mother Nature with the full force of Big Pharma, and we’re still losing.

Three ED power lifters, and as God is my witness, I’ll never go soft again.

Two sex safety meds keep an old queen like me HIV-negative. It’s a little miracle, and a heartbreak too.

One for sleep, a chemical ceasefire.

And one little yellow pill to calm this mother down, even when I’m not really ill.

I’m in my mid-60s, and if anyone’s keeping track, not a single one of these 12 is for my health. They just keep the shitshow on the road.

Pills. Thrills. Bills.
